Formosa Backpackers Hostel & Apartment（青年民宿）

Hosts very friendly and the location.

In theory the room was nice too, but were pretty sure it wasn't cleaned thoroughly for some time. And it wasn't cleaned after the last guests left. There were still toothbrushes lying in the bathroom and the trash wasn't emptied. The duvet had no cover and we weren't sure if the sheets had been changed. The bathroom was smelling and not cleaned. Hair everywhere. We slept in our sleeping bags

We were upgraded to the gorgeous big room at the front on the first floor. We never expected such a nice room and so much space in a backpackers. It was lovely to have a couch, big tv, kettle, fridge and a patio seating area. The decor was nice. Formosa is excellent value for the price.

The bed was very creaky. We were woken around 7am every morning by shutters opening. The floors weren't very clean. But overall we loved it here.

Good: - The landlord was friendly and tried to help as much as possible, but communication was arduous. - Premises (bedroom, shared bathroom) were clean. - Located at about 1 km from train station. Note: The beautiful B&W photos on the ground floor walls were taken long ago by the owner’s father, who lives on site and must be well over 70 years old.

- Landlord hardly spoke any English. Google Translate helped a lot. - The room was cramped but with a large window overlooking the terrace on the upper floor. However, smoking allowed on terrace was unpleasant. - The ground floor was a bit of a mess and cluttered with all sorts of stuff. - Tea, coffee available on site but more expensive than 7 Eleven 20 m. away.

super nice host, we were upgraded to a big apartment with couch, flatscreen and terrace! Soft bed, good shower. Would come back.
