Our only complaint was with dinner and breakfast. Both were disappointing and didn’t come up to expectations. For dinner the portions were very small and we had a very long wait for service. The couple next us had to wait even longer as one of their meals was whisked away to be returned at least half an hour later. My wife ordered belly pork which resembled two thick slices of bacon. The meat was dry and the “crackling” soft. I had lamb, which arrived as a deconstructed gyro sandwich and was very dry. We skipped desert as we didn’t want another long wait. For breakfast we ordered the local English breakfast. My wife has celiac disease and asked if the fried bread could be replaced with gluten free bread. Her breakfast arrived with dry gluten free bread, no sausage and no black pudding. We realise that there must have been gluten in the missing items and that was why the chef had left them out. Replacing the missing items with some extra bacon and/or mushrooms would have been a good gesture. Had she been told in advance that her breakfast was not going to be the full English she was expecting, she would have ordered something else. It seems as though the only problems we encountered were with the kitchen.

The hotel was beautiful, as was the room, which was tastefully decorated and very clean.
