Columbus Inn

As a SWF traveling alone, I was a little worried at first, because the parking lot was almost empty when I arrived. It almost looked abandoned. But it was a Sunday night and road construction made it complicated enough that Google Maps brought me in through the back and I wasn't sure I was at the right place. Once inside, though, the staff was very friendly, cordial and helpful. One staff member even offered to carry my bag the very short distance from the ice machine to the car as I was preparing to check out the next morning. He held the door for me and offered a cold bottled water when he saw me filling my insulated bottle with tap water in the breakfast room. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. I slept like a rock. There is plenty of illuminated parking, making it easy to park near an entrance close to my room. I felt safe when I was loading and unloading my car or going back out to grab things later. I wanted a room under $100 and a good night's sleep. I picked this one because it had good reviews compared all of the others at that price range.

The breakfast selection was a little slim. The only hot selection was the waffles. There was the usual selection of refrigerated items and some fresh bananas. I'm not a big eater, so that wasn't a problem for me and it saved me from having to stop somewhere on my way out of town. I suspect there were only a handful of guests for them to feed anyway.

We were in town for a wedding, so only spent time in the room to sleep and eat breakfast before checking out. There was a lot of construction going on in the area, which was a bit inconvenient, but that had nothing to do with the facility. While some upgrading could be done, we felt that it was clean and comfortable to sleep.

Low cost, location.

Needs updating and freshening up. Many rooms were musty and mildewed. Comforter had obvious blood stain (that was quickly replaced).

Everything was clean and comfortable. The owner and their family live there so they are just hangout out in the lobby. Otherwise it was clean. Didn’t eat the breakfast but it look decent.

This hotel works great for us whenever in town. Location is good, although road work made it a little difficult to get to. The staff was wonderful to work with. The room was fine. Overall good job.

Maybe a heads up on the road work for us out of towners would have been nice. Breakfast could be a bit bigger but it was not horrible by any means.

It was ok stay.

This was the first affordable hotel I ever stayed in that left the air conditioner in the room on at a reasonable temperature so that the room wasn’t scolding hot when you got there and you had to wait for it to cool down
