The location is perfect, a lovely outdoor space by the Thames, indoor it was light and spacious, a less than 5 minute walk into Henley. The staff were excellent, polite and fun, just the right balance.

On the weekend we went there was a Christmas fayre which have a buzzy feel with the added excitement of a guest appearance from Mary Berry signing her latest “90” book, which we all bought. I loved the feel of the club, great memorabilia, genuine classy and a strangely oldy Worldy feel to it without being old fashioned.

"Well to coin a Frase that jack Nicholson said when he stayed in Monte Carlo it’s like Alcatraz for the rich well Phyllis"

Phyllis court was a great place to stay our room was well equipped with all the mod cons plenty of USB ports and sockets to plug all things in you need to charge up through out your stay.The bed was large and comfortable and the TV was 50 inch up to date with the ability to stream any Chanel you desired and the bath room was modern.Down stairs the large lounge and orangery was great place to sit and relax and where most members and guest meet up for a drink and a chat.I would say it’s not a place for the young I think the average age was well into there 50 and sixties.I would not worried to much about the dress code most people where in casual clothing through out the day and evening they just ask you to be presentable which I find nothing wrong in as it is a members club and not really a hotel.So if you are coming up for retirement and want a break form all the worlds problems then definitely give Phyllis court a go you will not be disappointed.Ho and the food was excellent and the drinks where reasonably cheap compared to most place in Henley on Thames.
