Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wyomissing by IHG

Very disappointed with how I was treated at this hotel. The bathroom in our room was extremely small and unsafe for my needs, so I requested an ADA accommodation. I was told there were no ADA rooms available until the day I was checking out. When I spoke with the general manager, instead of trying to help, she was rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I was blamed for not requesting an ADA room ahead of time, even though I had never stayed at this property before and had no way of knowing how inaccessible the room would be. I explained this was the first time in my life I have ever had to request an ADA accommodation, and instead of being treated with understanding, I was made to feel embarrassed and uncomfortable for even asking. To make matters worse, I was checked out of my room without confirmation simply for requesting an ADA bathroom, leaving me scrambling to figure out what to do next. IHG Guest Relations had to step in and open a complaint case after they were unable to find another nearby hotel with availability. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service from multiple staff members was unacceptable. I would strongly recommend anyone with mobility issues or disabilities avoid this property.

-Room only had two towels for four people -Bathroom light is way too bright without a dimmer; this is a problem first thing in the morning or having to use the rest room in the middle of the night -Pool was clean but very cold and didn’t feel at all like 80 degrees as we were told it should be -Breakfast was decent but could have had gluten free options as well as more fresh fruit
