JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

The property was amazing and the staff there was incredible. I lost my phone in my car and the valet staff turned over every stone to assist. And all with a smile too!

The property was beautiful. The room was clean. We were put in a room right next to the gym and constantly heard weights banging, especially EARLY in the morning. I told the front desk and they didn’t seem to care.

Honestly, this might be the most disappointing JW Marriott I’ve ever stayed at. Here’s why: Check-in was a mess. Got there at 8 PM, a line of tired people, and only one person working the front desk. Come on. Elevators take forever. More than once, I waited 10+ minutes just to go up or down. Not great when you’re in a hurry. My key cards just… didn’t work. Went down three times to get new ones, and the front desk lady looked more annoyed each time. Turns out, the lock itself was broken. Maintenance "fixed" it, but guess what? Stopped working again the next day. BTW did I mention the slow elevators? Breakfast for elites? Bare minimum. Yeah, it’s technically their policy, but the regular Marriott down the street gives elites hot breakfast. This one? Sad pastries and cereal. Lame. Desk in the room is a joke. Just a high bar table with stools—zero back support, terrible for working. If you’re here for business, good luck. Bottom line: Expected way better from a JW. Wouldn’t stay again

The Greeting crew are fantastic Especially ( Norvin ) He remembered both my wife and my name's from the last visit over 2 years ago, We booked a room with a view, But the view was building tops So Norvin arranged it and moved us from the 8th floor to the 15th floor which had a fantastic view, They always go above and beyond... Great location, Great food, Great employees, Great rooms, Hands down a Great place to stay ... We be back ... Thank you JW Marriott Greg and Cindy Moe

Along with my mom and daughter, I stayed at this JW Marriott property for a half work/half spring break week. The hotel is a smaller property, but comfortable, and felt like a safe refuge from the city activity outside. My experience with the front desk was great. Notable shout outs go to Anthony and Jake, who helped me on separate days when the coffee ran out earlier than the 8:30 a.m. end time. They were both so accommodating, and delivered really stellar customer service, which I was grateful for. The room was comfortable and roomy - we all slept well in the beds. I loved that the closet/storage area was a little separate from the sleeping area, lending to a more spacious feel. The gym was great - I loved starting my mornings there at 6 a.m. with the other early risers. All the equipment was state of the art and modern, and it appeared that staff would come around regularly to wipe it all down. We didn't dine at the restaurant, but there were always a good number of people eating there or at the bar. One morning, I went down to the restaurant to order a steamed milk, and the kindest server greeted and helped me. She was SO sweet and kind, I am kicking myself for not remembering her name. It started with a B, and was "Bizen" or "Bison." If management happens to read this and knows who I'm referring to, please recognize this amazing lady. The hotel does not have a pool, so that may be something to note for families with young kids. It's walking distance from a bunch of great restaurants, and you really can't beat the location. Docking one star because $80/day for valet parking just feels incredibly wrong. Otherwise we loved our stay here.
