Four Seasons Resort Lanai

A very relaxing , secluded, beautiful Resort with excellent service. All rooms are spacious along with all restraunts offering a wide variety . Make sure you visit the Sensi resort, eat and stroll the grounds. The private plane from Honolulu to Lanai was awesome. Highly recommend the splurge.

As a frequent business traveler, I've seen my fair share of hotels, but this one stands out. Check-in was a breeze, the room had a proper workspace (hallelujah!), and the Wi-Fi was lightning fast. Perfect honeymoon choice if you’re looking to relax. We had a great stay. Love the rooms, restaurants, staff, and massages. We also loved the Sensei property grounds. I hope to make it back! They also have fish food for the various ponds around the property. Whoever is managing the grounds needs an award because the plants and overall landscaping is simply stunning.

I am in my 60’s. I have travelled extensively on business and for leisure for 40 years. This may be the best hotel experience I ever have had. It is expensive but worth it. Staff is off the charts in their friendliness and knowledge and willingness to help. Food is excellent. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable.

Celebrated my birthday in this paradise and it was perfection! The views, the calmness, the sustainability, the food but the icing on the cake was the people, they all have an amazing smile and the contagious aloha spirit. I’m looking forward to coming back very soon!

Physically beautiful resort in a beautiful setting, FSL has some really magical aspects. A private-plane flight from Honolulu in Lana'i Air is very special- some snacks and coffee and comfy couches upstairs are great. The ride form the airport down the hill to the resort in a FS coach or Tesla is comfortable and swift. The FS lobby is big and beautiful- full of luxury touches plus indigenous artefacts to combine two worlds. The lobby and main buildings look and feel rock-solid, which adds to the sensation of luxury. Even the cheapest rooms are fabulous- great big soft bed with a thousand pillows, great TV and beautiful bathroom with a computerised, warm toilet. Yes, you read that right. Daily room service is super-prompt if you hit the right button when you leave for brekky or to catch a wave. Food options are good not perfect- a couple of stunning high-quality joints and a couple moderate down market. But nowhere is cheap! A (free) ride up to town for a meal at the Bar'n'Grill is worthwhile, but don't expect a cheap meal! The Nobu and Mozza signature restaurants are very high-class, but not what I want EVERY night :) Friendly service is ubiquitous at FSL, and a lovely touch when most staff remember your names. Plenty of activities can fill your day- pistol or clay shooting, archery, cruising on the resort catamarans, hiking up-mountain (wonderfully cool up-top, great contrast to the beach), snorkelling, and more. We did all this on our visits, but never went a day with out a few dips in and out of the hottub, interspersed with a fall into one of the beautifully-landscaped pools. Beach water is clear as a bell and warm as toast- no gasping as you run in! Just a joy to splash around in. Surf can be dumpy and dangerous- be careful! Incredibly, I think the resort is actually quite a lot better than it appears on the website :) Overall the finest resort I have stayed at, and I would happily return again. It is very expensive, and many of the activities have a (big) surcharge. So save those pennies and mark it in your calendar!!

The Four Seasons Resort Lanai offers an incredible tropical experience on a secluded island, perfectly capturing the essence of luxury and tranquility. The pools and beach access are exceptional, and the resort upholds the high standards that Four Seasons is known for. However, there are some areas that could be improved. The dining options are somewhat limited, with only two standout restaurants, one average restaurant, and in-room dining available. This might be challenging for guests staying more than four days, as the dining variety may not be sufficient. The pool service is top-notch, though it's only available until 4:30 PM, even though the pool itself is open 24 hours. The resort staff are generally great, but not all are equally knowledgeable, which could be improved unless the intention is to emphasize a laid-back island vibe with slower service. I also used the Lanai charter service, which was an amazing experience. I stayed in the Ohana Suite, which lived up to the Four Seasons benchmark of luxury. Housekeeping deserves a 5-star rating, although it's unclear why amenities aren't consistently replenished based on the first day's setup—you often have to request items you expect to be there. Food and beverage service varies. The breakfast restaurant and Nobu both deserve 5 stars, but the restaurant Massa falls short with poor service and an arrogant manager. Additionally, the breakfast restaurant experience is marred by a lack of air conditioning, leading to long waits and discomfort. A notable difference from other Four Seasons properties is the absence of a personal touch from the Front Office Manager or General Manager, which is typically a hallmark of the brand. This might be due to the island setting, but it raises the question of whether expectations should be adjusted for this specific property. Overall, while the resort excels in many areas, there are a few aspects that could benefit from attention to ensure a consistently high-end experience. I was disappointed with the spa at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai. The experience was mediocre at best. The bathrooms lacked basic amenities like a comb or hairbrush, which is surprising for a Four Seasons property. Typically, after a service, you're invited to a relaxing sitting area where they serve tea, champagne, or other goodies. However, here, they offered snacks like nuts and granola in the bathroom, which didn’t feel luxurious at all. It’s unclear what kind of atmosphere they’re aiming for, but it certainly didn’t provide the wow factor you expect from a Four Seasons spa.

Four Seasons Lanai is like a good nanny - I really don't want to tell anyone about it because its so secret and great that I want to keep it all to myself. But yet, I have been telling everyone left and right who asks for many years that this is the BEST resort in Hawaii, and frankly, my very favorite resort worldwide. My recent stay absolutely did not let me down at all - I feel exactly the same way as always: relaxed, pampered, well nourished, recharged. The clean bay, serentity, healthy food on offer, and more than anything, the genuine kindness of the entire ohana were remarkable. A couple small notes for this particular stay, and certainly, not to infer that others were not terrific, everyone was! Since last time, one child has serious dietary issues. I appreciate Mr. Jose Vargas who helped comfort in advance that "everything would be just fine" - which is totally was. Special thanks to Nobu and the new manager from Lima, Peru...super kind, to help us particularly in that regard! And then very special thanks to Ms. Angel Wright for helping to make sure our accommodations were superb. I love this place, and can't wait to go back.
