"STAY AWAY. DIRTY PLACE AND WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU"

Was charged a $350 smoking fee by a “sensor in the room” which detected a level of smoke 10x “normal range”. Normal range is 0-10 and the “sensor” picked up a “smoke index” of 100 in our room (LOL!) Neither myself nor my wife has even purchased a pack of cigarettes in our life, Nevermind smoke, and definitely not in the hotel. The management had no resolution or explanation for this other than to “dispute with your card company.” They did not offer to reverse the charge and said it was out of their hands Seems like they probably charge people this fee a lot and hope they either don’t notice it or just pay it Also, the place is dingy and dirty, we chose to wear shoes in the room bc the carpets were nasty. And also the woman at the front desk, Paula, has an attitude meant for the DMV, not for hospitality. Stay away, there’s plenty of other better options in C’Ville

"Very Pleasant Stay"

The entire hotel is very clean and looked to be recently renovated. All staff I encountered were polite and extremely helpful. My room was clean the bedding was comfortable. Coffee and hot tea was always available in the lobby area, along with individually wrapped fruit, which I appreciate for sanitary purposes. There was a variety of breakfast offerings and what I chose was very tasty. Highly recommend Hampton University.

"UVA trips for cancer treatments and pleasure."

My husband is battling cancer for the second time in 11 years. We love the care that we receive at UVA and the options that we have for treatment. What we love about this particular Hampton Inn is how convenient it is to the Cancer Center/hospital. And it is very comfortable and the staff are friendly. It is almost like taking a mini vacation in the middle of fighting cancer. And my son lives an hour closer to Charlottesville than he is from our home which makes it especially nice! 😊

The traffic in the area due to lots of construction (which is actually a good thing for the school and the hospital).
