Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Southwest of Hershey Area

Unfriendly staff, dirty bed sheets, and the bathrooms are terrible.

Check in service (afternoon /evening lady) desk lady was amazing! Super friendly, very helpful, told us her local restaurant recommendations, things to do, etc. Overall cleanliness-on a scale of 1-10 probably a 6. The bldg is old and definitely some “old dirt” that just isn’t gotten to. There was garbage behind our nightstand that housekeepers missed (chip bags). Under the mattresses the dust ruffle sheet could definitely used washed. The steps going up to 2nd floor were carpeted and very dirty (high traffic area) but could use new carpet or deep cleaned. The check out (morning lady) service desk lady was not friendly, seemed bothered to do her job. Did not refill breakfast area (at 7 am there was only 3 muffins left) breakfast started at 6 am. She was chatting with two ladies that were not even staying there and was very annoyed that she had to check us out and give us a receipt. We found her rather rude. It was a decent, budget friendly place that could use a little bit more cleaning.

Absolutely disgusting! I urge everyone to stay away from this hotel. It was completely filthy. Hair and dirt in every corner of the rooms. Stains on the walls. Stained sheets and blankets. Bathtub was dirty. I get creeped out just thinking about that hotel room.

The property at first glance looks like it’s in a terrible area. It’s not right around the corner is a ton of shopping and dinning options. There is a huge Bass Pro Shops about a mile away. The rooms are clean the hotel is on the older side and needs some things updated. The staff was amazing. The women who checked us out was my favorite person ever. We got soaked at the concert the night before and my husband thought he was good with his one pair of jeans…well the lady downstairs let us dry them in the dryer so he didn’t have to drive 3 hours in wet clothes. Overall for a night stay and a concert in Hershey I think it was perfect.

Check in was listed at 2 pm. We arrived at 2:25 and had to wait 30 minutes for the room to be ready. The toilet/shower room had a filthy door. The refrigerator was extremely noisy and it had to be unplugged so I could sleep. At 6 am on Sunday morning someone in a neighboring room woke me up with their loud phone conversation. The walls were paper thin! I would not stay at an Econolodge again. Very disappointing stay.

The front desk person was awesome, JT made us feel at home the whole stay. The hotel is what it advertises, a budget conscious choice for travelers. We found it comfortable, clean, and convenient. Would stay here again.
