Excellent accueil, chaleureux et humain. Très bonne table ! Vaste chambre décorée avec fraïcheur. Piscine sympa.Jolie situation avec vue sur le village de Salers et les montagnes. On reviendra !

Gérants et personnel très agréables et serviables. Buffet petit-déjeuner bien fourni. Parking un peu juste en plein mois d'août, mais sans doute suffisant le reste de l'année. Wifi faible pour l'instant, mais la fibre va bientôt être raccordée. WC séparés de la salle de bains. Présence d'un ascenseur pratique quand on a les bagages, mais pas indispensable autrement. J'ai mis du temps à m'acclimater au verrouillage de la serrure, vieux système.

Séjour très agréable avec un accueil bienveillant . Le dîner du soir était excellent avec notamment un apéritif accompagné de pois chiches à huile d’olive , au cumin et au paprika et en plat principal, des moules gratinées au cantal et à la crème. Délicieux. L’hôtel est bien situé , à 800 mètres du centre de Salers, avec une vue dominante sur le village. Nous recommandons particulièrement cet hôtel.

Ayant pratiqué cet établissement dans le passé, j'ai été surpris par le dilettantisme de l'organisation. Neige au Puy Marie, 4° et pluie au thermomètre mais pas de chauffage dans la chambre. Arrivé à 9h au petit déjeuner, on nous fait remarquer que nous sommes les derniers arrivés. Buffet vide et 20mn d'attente pour que des viennoiserie, du pain et du jus d'orange parviennent au buffet. Le personnel marquant un enthousiasme débordant à assurer le service !

I would have loved to give this place 4 or even 5 stars. The rooms are simple but spacious, we stayed two adults with two kids and it was very comfortable. The pool, breakfast and the hotel location is great. But they really need to shape things up. Staff is friendly but not trained. Two young guys try to do everything - reception, cleaning, breakfast, pool, etc etc. They just can’t do it all. Room was not clean. Dust is one things (but should not be there) but bugs are really really not ok. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper, basic stuff. It just didn’t feel professional. I really hope they get things together because the place has potential. But they have some work getting there.

The hotel is located just outside the beautiful town of Salers. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk to the centre of the town (which is well lit by street lights at night). The room had a lovely view of Salers in the distance (see photo). Also in the photo is part of the swimming pool which is not quite as large as it appears in the publicity photo - but a decent size to swim in and some of the guests did use the pool. The room was a decent size, was clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall, the room was rather dated. There was a separate and very small en-suite toilet and a separate bathroom. The room lacked a number of details which might have justified the price. For example, the toilet roll holder was broken and we had to ask for extra paper, the shower hose did not have a fitting on the wall to hold it, the walls were painted in a shade of pink which probably looked lovely in the 1970's but by now just looks a little sad and tired. I imagine that the room is warm and cozy during the colder months because there are wall heaters in the main room and bathroom. However we arrived at the end of August and the weather was very hot and humid. The room was stifling and extremely uncomfortable since there is no air-conditioning. We asked for a fan but they did not have one. Our first night was therefore very unpleasant due to the heat (which is no fault of the hotel of course). The next day we bought a fan which helped make the room more comfortable. We ate in the hotel on the first night and the food was freshly cooked and tasty. We did not have breakfast so am unable to comment on this. Staff were helpful and courteous. Overall, we were rather disappointed with the hotel which we felt was a little overpriced and did not quite live up to the description on the website.

We booked the hotel as we were cycling in the area. As soon as we arrived when the chef saw us struggling to secure our bikes outside, he suggested we put them in a 'little house' (an out building of the hotel). That set the theme for our stay - staff that could not do enough for us. They really went the extra mile. We had dinner at the hotel and that was great with just excellent service and great value for money. The staff were very friendly and were just so helpful. Breakfast was also very good. We all agreed we would like to return to the hotel with our wives and girlfriends. One small point is that there is no bracket for the shower and the rooms are a bit 1970’s but the view is fantastic, so that more than makes up for the room décor. When we arrived at the hotel there was a helicopter on the lawn, so if you have one of those, it is obviously no problem to land and leave it at the hotel!
