"Logement correcte pour 1nuit"

6.0

"Budget riad"

6.0

Good location and easily accessible. Fair price for what you get. The owner was friendly, gave us some tea and a free upgrade to a room with a private bathroom without us asking anything. However there weren't any curtains to block the sun coming from the windows and you will probably wake up early with the birds from the house.

"Bel posticino! "

8.0

"Good"

6.0

The host is very kind and helpful, good conversations good breakfast. On the other hand, there’s no private bathroom it’s communale, and the whole property is not very clean. When we were there, the other guests were partying in the common area until past midnight and it was preventing us from sleeping. There is also a guard dog that barks all night long.

"Great location, very basic room, friendly staff"

6.0

They did not answer emails how to get there. Staff at location however was friendly. Rooms on ground floor are small and have no daylight. That happens often in a riad style home though. Hygiene was okay. Location is great and easy to find.

"Not what it says on the tin :("

2.0

We booked this hotel for a family stay on booking.com .... not impressed! We arrived and firstly couldn't find the place, therefore called the hotel to help guide us. We had to pay him 20 Dirhams for the privilege of walking us there (no offer from him to carry our suitcase). Be warned you can't park anywhere near the entrance to this so called 'hotel'. We were taken down a grotty high street type place where there was dirt tracks for road. This is not conducive when pulling a suitcase or with an elderly woman. Eventually we arrived at a shifty looking establishment, where they have used straw and mud on the walls to make it look more 'authentic'. Unfortunately it just wasn't nice. The manager asked us to book in and then showed us to the one bedroom he said we had booked. We had booked two bedrooms as there were 4 of us! After providing him with the confirmation and some very firm words he showed us to one shared room with 3 beds and one bed on the floor. No window and NOTHING like the pictures. No private bathroom as alluded by booking.com (cheers for that). So if you like your privacy be warned it's a shared bathroom downstairs. No locks on doors and ultimately we did not feel safe and were not provided with what we paid for. Therefore, we were forced to find accommodation elsewhere.... they told booking.com that we were a 'no show' and charged us. Absolute joke and would not recommend this 'hotel'.

"A bit overpriced. Good medina location. "

6.0

My brother and I booked a room here on booking.com for a total of $36 Canadian (about 24€). We have just travelled to Marrakech, Essaouira, fes, chefchaouen and now to Rabat. The accommodation in Rabat is a lot more expensive than the other cities. You seem to get less for your money. Dar El karam is quite basic. Old bed sheets, old furniture, very small rooms. The location is very good. A short walk to the beach and inside the medina. When we arrived at the hotel our host showed my brother and I to a room with 2 single beds and asked us to pay immediately 38€. We showed him our booking confirmation for 24€ and he said we had to pay for 3 people because the booking form he had said we booked for 3 people. We asked him why we would pay for 3 people when there is only 2 of us and 2 beds and he said it's not his problem the booking form says 3 people. He was not willing to give us a price for 2 people and We already thought the room was overpriced at 24€ so we cancelled the booking and left. There is 2 much nicer hotels just outside the medina gates about 100m away and for exact same price we got a much nicer modern apartment with flat screen tv, air conditioning, fresh white hotel sheets on the beds and a lovely restaurant on the rooftop of the hotel.
