Beach House Half Moon Bay

On the whole, our experience was satisfactory. The value for the money here is diminished somewhat by the construction outside, including unpleasant smells and bird droppings which make the balcony unusable. Other guests mentioned to us that the construction noise interfered with their sleep, but our bedroom was set back from the living area, and we didn't have that particular issue. Our favorite points: The suite was nicely laid out and spacious with a comfortable bed, living room and kitchen (with burners, microwave, and fridge) There was ample parking each time we returned to the room. The bathroom was large, with a 2 sink vanity, separate shower and tub, Toto (Japanese) toilet, and ample decent quality towels. The included breakfast was very good, with fresh pastries, fruit, juices. It met our needs for a light meal each morning perfectly. Our least favorite points: Having to "request" housekeeping each morning seems inappropriate at this price point (well over $500 a night). Just clean the rooms daily! A hand towel rack in the bathroom near the sink should be added. The hair dryer provided is very cheap and doesn't match the otherwise upscale bathroom. Something "ionic" or a Dyson type would be more appropriate at this price. The televisions don't work with the mismatched remotes provided unless the system is "reset," a detail that guests are not provided unless they ask at the front desk. It seems like a reasonable ask that the televisions would be functional. We did take advantage of the walk across the parking lot to Sam's Chowder House, which I can recommend. Overall, it was a decent stay in a comfortable but not flawless accommodation.

Nice hotel at the pacific coast in half moon bay a rooms have a fireplace and the hotel has an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi. Great seafood restaurants in walking distance.

The Beach House is our favorite hotel in Half Moon Bay. The location is exceptional with a room view that’s breathtaking. This was our 2nd time and coincidentally both times we’ve stayed In the same room. It’s definitely meant to be and hopefully the next time we’d get the same room again to keep up the tradition. The only negative comment I have would be that the pull out sofa bed needs updating. We tried it just so we can be closer to the screened patio but it’s not comfortable. The mattress pad is so thin you can feel the metal bars. Thankfully the bed is very comfortable. Other than that there’s no complaints.

As I said earlier the only negative comment would be the sofa bed is way too uncomfortable and definitely need to be replaced.

Arrived for a ten day stay. Reception area bright and airy and check ok. Room large but tired though well equipped. Unfortunately they were dredging the harbour so we had loud noise from 7am- 6pm so could not sit out on balcony or have a window open. We should have been pre warned about this. I was looking forward to a swim but the pool is tiny, about four feet deep, tired and a little dirty. Around pool are about 8 loungers but uncomfortably. There is a jacuzzi but we did go in. Breakfast is described as a buffet breakfast and we were expecting to be able to sit in a restaurant. It is infact set up in the reception area but does give a reasonable choice. Not many places to sit to enjoy your breakfast so most take it to the room. The town of half moon bay is about 12 minute drive away though a few nice restaurants in pilliar point though not much else. This is very much a budget style hotel.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Beach and horizon and ocean view fabulous. Also -- the Reception staff went 'above and beyond the call of duty' to help me with an unusual need. I needed car transportation to another part of HMB, and they arranged for a driver to pick me up, do the errand I needed to do and drive me back to the hotel at a very reasonable cost. Also -- the breakfast on our next day morning was far and away the best 'breakfast offered' we'd ever had: VERY fresh and delicious pastries and bagels from nearby bakeries. A surprising and excellent treat!
