Marine Hotel Paignton

Great friendly staff in a very pleasant hotel and a great lounge/bar area for looking out towards to the sea. The only niggle was the shower, definitely hot, but the pressure was low and in our room there was a sloping ceiling making it hard to stand up. However, it was all very clean and the bar prices are much lower than a Premier Inn restaurant where I stayed a few days ago!

A pleasant welcoming hotel near the seafront. The room was hot when we arrived but cooled somewhat when the window opening restrictions were removed. I think it would be too hot if the outside temperature was high.

We booked last minute without really doing any research but we got a lovely room with a bath/shower. The staff were all very welcoming, down to earth and friendly. Ideally located. Bed was very comfortable and the room cleaned to a high standard. Although there was shower gel/soap there was no shampoo & conditioner.

Lovely area right on the beach front. Had everything we needed basic enough. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Could do with updating massively and wifi looked at, but worked well for us ☺️

The hotel is a bit dated and we found our room a bit cramped, especially the w.c./ shower room which was not big enough to shower and dry yourself in, meaning you had to shower and then go into the bedroom to dry yourself. There was quite a lot of noise from other people walking about their rooms and flushing the toilet; not really a problem during the day but it is at 6.30 in the morning when you are still trying to sleep. The best feature of the Marine hotel are the staff who always seemed helpful and friendly and generally deliver an excellent service.

We stayed in lower ground floor and the room was terrible and was smelling very bad. Complained to the manager but she couldn’t do anything to change my room as the hotel was completely booked. Didn’t get the complete refund.

Hotel it's self was very basic and outdated. Positive: Rooms were clean and comfy. Very great size and location. Very close to the pier and amenities. Parking on site which is very helpful with a busy beach front. Negatives: Paint peeling off the ceiling and mouldy lampshade could do with being replaced. TV signal was very spotty, unable to watch any channels. WiFi was spotty and not really usable in room. Bedroom heater left on full when we arrived making the room extremely uncomfortable (hot conditions outside as well).
