Econo Lodge San Marcos University Area

Property computer system was down so was unable to provide service to us but did assure me of a refund thru expedia. Which i am still waiting for. We are hurricane burly survivors looking for a place with ac. Expedia has been horrible to assist us with this refund . Will never use this service again. And advising everyone the same!

Everything was dirty, old, disappointing. Leaking sink, water sprayed everywhere, I did not feel like getting in the shower. The bed was wrinkled , not made well. I slept with my clothes on.

It was so nasty in and out. My family and I did not stay.

There was a bunch of roaches in our motel room and it smelt like cigarettes in our room too. The staff were meh nobody was at the main lobby to take our cards for the motel so we just placed them on the counter

It was a very busy street and also unsafe. The stairs looked unsafe too. Nothing like the pictures. Disappointing, we just used it to change and decided not to go back at night.

This place is absolutely disgusting. I’m so sad we had to stay here. There was no cold water, only hot. Burn holes in the bedding, bugs on the floor. And when we walked in the room, it looks like somebody had already been laying in the bed. It was so incredibly discussing. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures online I have never stayed in such a disgusting motel. I couldn’t wait to leave.

This hotel is absolutely terrible. When you check in, you have to deal with the receptionist through a small slit, like visiting the drug store at 2am in a rough neighbourhood. I thought, wow, is this a rough neighbourhood? But it’s not, I think the receptionists lock themselves away, to protect themselves from the customers. This place is so bad. When we walked into our room it stank of smoke, even though it was a non smoking room. There were holes in the bedsheets and holes in the top cover - looked like cigarette burns. Of course, there was the obligatory light bulbs out. When we went to heat some food in the microwave there was a plate of green, hairy pasta in it (see photo). Even after I threw that away, the state of the microwave was disgusting. We couldn’t figure out what was going on. This place is so bad. It’s like everyone has just given up. The room was so dirty. You may say, what do you expect. It’s low budget, but we’ve traveled around the US for 5 weeks and stayed at 2 other Econo lodges and this was off the scale in terribleness. I’m never staying in another Econo lodge. Not taking that risk again

I didn’t expect much with booking a cheap motel, as I have done many times before for even cheaper rates, however I was so disgusted I couldn’t even sleep. The bedding smelled strongly like sweat, the whole place was dirty, the bathroom door was smashed and broken in, there was a car air freshener hanging on the AC unit I’m assuming to try and mask the smell of cigarettes? I didn’t even feel comfortable taking off my shoes in the hotel, and truly considered sleeping in the truck instead. There was two flat sheets, no fitted sheet, and some sort of mattress pad that was stained with yellow spots all over. Because there was no fitted sheet, I guess they expected me to sleep directly on the mattress pad? I’ve stayed in many discount hotels in the past and definitely wasn’t expecting much, but any halfway decent person would not enjoy staying here. If I hadn’t gotten in past midnight I would have looked for somewhere else even if I had to pay for two places.

Everything was dirty. From the toilet to shower it was dirty. The floor was dirty the cabinets of dresser were broken. The lights did not work in the room. The shower did not have a curtains. It’s honestly the worst hotel I stayed in. The beds felt like they were going to break. After checking in I left after one hour it was unbearable being in there I had to go look for another hotel. I wasted my time. And I want to get a refund for this horrible experience
