Monteftur

The location was amazing. We had a tiny top floor room but with a terrace plus an amazing view of the church dome and the castle on the hill. What a great place to have a glass of wine and watch the stars come out.

There are quite a few stairs if you are in the top room.

Montefrio is a quaint little mountain town with great views. The apartment is right in the village center with a good view of the church. The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. There is a small kitchenette with everything you need. The owners keep a shop selling local specialities downstairs, so it is easy to collect the keys. Their cheeses, olive oil and cured meats are also very good. Tip for the sunset: the view is best from the Convento de San Antonio a little bit up.

Even though the room was small (as expected) the view from the terrace was stunning. The hos was also very nice.

We visited Monteftur in October so the city was less busy with tourists. The downside was that there were no restaurants open at night. We had to find something where we could find snacks. Some information about where to find food should be provided to visitors.
