Holiday Inn Express Mesa Verde-Cortez by IHG

This hotel is long overdue for renovations, and unfortunately, the ongoing work was happening in rooms near ours during our stay. Pros: • Convenient location close to Mesa Verde National Park • One bed was comfortable • Shower had good temperature and water pressure • TV worked without issue • Wi-Fi was reliable Cons: • Carpet is worn and needs to be replaced • Towels were thin, frayed, and in poor condition • Fitted sheet on one bed had stains; despite asking two different front desk staff to replace it, the sheets were never changed during our 4-night stay • Air conditioning unit was noisy (we managed by opening the window at night) • One lamp could only stand when propped against the wall • Room key card stopped working one day, even though I kept it separate from other cards; staff reprogrammed it but didn’t apologize • Exercise room key card only worked once out of four attempts, and staff had to let us in the other times; none of the TVs in the exercise room functioned • The bathroom fan in the room next door emitted a loud buzzing noise every time it was used, often for long stretches in the evening

Staff are friendly; the breakfast is very good. The location is convenient to restaurants.

The bed was very comfortable. Check in was a breeze, i like the fireplace on the second floor it was cozy , all in all it was an enjoyable experience

Well maintained and a good location to explore Mesa Verde from. Decent breakfast options and delicious cinnamon rolls😀

A very good stay. Just like we expect from Holiday Inn.

The place was like a lodge instead of a hotel. The room was pretty big and comfortable. We had a nice mountain view. Sink is outside of the shower/toilet room which was convenient for us. Countertop was small though. Breakfast was very good with lots of hot and cold selections. Well located to Mesa Verde National Park and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. There was an indoor pool, which looked nice. They had towels. The fitness center and laundry room were across the parking lot. $1.50 wash and $.25 dry. They were renovating at the time and they still provided a nice experience.

Staff was very courteous and helped me with the reservation even after Expedia’s reservation was not in their system. If not for her help, I wouldn’t have had a room for the night. Not sure if Holiday Inn Express dropped the ball or if it was Expedia’s issue.

Property definitely needs some maintenance and modernization. Restroom ceiling look terrible from previous leaks, wallpaper was hanging above shower and furniture was and looked very old. Some door card readers didn't work as well...
