situated in the middle of the countryside yet only a short distance from the coast, great contactless check in and welcoming comfortable room, each day the tea and coffee tray was refreshed with delicious homemade style biscuits with fresh milk available at all times, lovely little touches that made the stay a pleasure, breakfast included was delicious but served a little late for us, the staff couldn't do more, making the effort to provide a pack up for us to eat which was very good especially on our checkout day which enabled us to leave early and miss the traffic ..I couldn't connect to the wifi but this wasn't an issue for me as I have mobile internet ..we ate in the pub most evenings and we enjoyed some lovely meals, after site seeing all day it was lovely to relax in the pub in the evening

Wonderful country pub accommodation and excellent food.

Very friendly staff, good food and great breakfast. Some noise from the pub, as I guess you expect if staying in an inn. We were disappointed with our room though - Rampisham Down. Comfortable, the shower was good & yes, you can just see Rampisham Down but mainly you see the roof of the kitchen on which is mounted a large extractor fan which runs when the kitchen is in use so we were woken up earlier than we would like to have been by the noise & found it intrusive in the evenings too. Perhaps the rooms facing this should be priced differently from those with a good view & quieter? Otherwise good stay.

Very clean rooms, friendly, helpful and very enjoyable

Five of us stayed in three rooms whilst attending a wedding at Mapperton and were very pleased with our choice. Being able to check in at midday meant we could change and have excellent sandwiches before the event. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were very comfortable, clean and charming and there were some very thoughtful touches like home made biscuits and a shared mini-fridge with fresh milk. Excellent breakfast too. Many thanks.
