Fred Hotel Leonhardstrasse - Self Check-in

I had the top room in the building to myself, which I did not expect - it was a great-sized room with a large closet and bathroom. The suite was excellent. My only issue is that the top floor does not have access to the elevator, so it does require hauling suitcases up the stairs. That would be the only advanced notice I'd say would be helpful. Otherwise, the room and location was great and would choose again.

I can’t think of a better location: direct tram to/from the airport. 7 minutes walk to the railway station. 3 minutes walk to the university and a wonderful vista where you can see the whole city. A lot of places to eat and drink around. Though there is basically no staff, when I had questions or requests, they were resolved quickly via correspondence. So, very responsive staff.

Rooms are very neat, clean and quiet location walking distance off the main old town strip and the train and bus stations. It’s pleasant, yet expensive place to relax for a night or two

The self check in is a little bit funky for first time user and no staff on premises. It is expensive, not at all good value as the rooms are tiny for the price paid.
