1881 Madrid Ventas Hotel

Habitación amplia tal cual se describe en imágenes, personal muy atento, buenas conexiones, a media calle del metro línea 5 y bus stops.

Clean , good size room.

Very office like , no color in the interior, I liked the neighborhood, but it was to far from the city center ,

The location, shower, and beds were excellent. The kettle was very useful for my wife, and the room was spacious. We also appreciated normal hangers. There’s a great breakfast spot just opposite the hotel on Calle Ventas called “Cafe Belsot” — definitely worth trying. It really made our stay more enjoyable.

The hotel has a problem with its air conditioning. In the rooms facing south/west (Calle Ventas), the AC is not able to cool the rooms adequately. We asked the staff to fix the AC in our room, but we eventually had to move to another room because the unit could not cool it down and it was far too hot. As for the staff, we did not find them particularly friendly. However, the gentleman running the restaurant was very nice, as was the lady in charge of customer relations, Lorena (if I remember her name correctly). The rest of the staff often seemed uninterested in helping , didn't greet us, and gave the impression that questions or requests were an inconvenience. One staff members also appeared to lack basic customer service skills.
