Ramada by Wyndham Pearl Guangzhou

I stayed at the Ramada Pearl Hotel in Guangzhou for 2 nights in early September 2010. Overall, I found it to be a very good hotel. The rooms are quite large with a view overlooking the river. It is in a fairly good area, although a little seedy at night time. Getting there was a little difficult, I arrived during the afternoon rush. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a good 3.5 star property

The Hotel Ramada is a good Hotel, for what you pay, but them have to be careful whit the client, non smoking area is important for occidental people. We now that the 30% of the chinese is smoking people, but in america the porcentaje is lowing, only the 10% is smoker. We request a nonsmoking room and they give us the first nigth a smoking room. we reclain and then they change the room. The indoor pool in this cool period is not warm. very cool and we can not use it. The bath room of the area pool not very clean and small. The western restaurant the prices is to hight to take breakfast . but the chinese restaurant is ok.

Great big room with decent view. Location seemed to be in a business district which was walking distance from a few sight seeing attractions including the Asian Games construction and giant sight seeing tower. If you are in town for the nightlife this location may not be the best. WARNING: As expected, room service and mini bar is rediculously priced. Go the nearby 711 and other convenient store to get snacks.

Nice hotel. Very comfortable. Staff went out of their way to provide good service. Great views of the river.

I typically stay at 5-star hotels in Asia because they are equivalent to 3 and 4 star hotels in the US. I had received a recommendation to try this hotel, but should have asked more thorough questions. I would equate this hotel to a large Motel 6 or an old US Best Western. Accomodations are just okay. You get what you pay for...
