Apple Farm Inn

Nice little room with a timed wall-heater disguised as a fireplace, pretty pictures on the walls, good HVAC, hot water, comfy bed, pretty grounds with cheerful frogs in a nice creek, nice pool & jacuzzi, 24-hr coffee in the lobby, location very handy to the freeway, Cal Poly, and SLO in general.

Freeway noise. They did mention in advance that there was some freeway noise from the "Trellis" rooms but have done nothing to alleviate it. Redecorating the rooms is lovely, but I know from travel abroad that sound-proof windows (and hey, how about doors, too) are definitely available. Luckily I travel with my own portable fan for air circulation and white noise... No coffee in the room and I had no spouse along to go fetch it from the lobby (and no desire to go over in my jammies to get it) so no coffee for me first thing, or even hot water to make myself some tea. Frankly, that is all that's needed.

The staff was fantastic. My confirmation from Booking was lacking details of the room I reserved. The staff was very helpful and for a $10 upgrade moved us away from a room with freeway noise and into a room with a private patio with a hot tub. We loved coming back after dinner and listening to the frogs!

The room was painted in many shades of green. I would have preferred a soothing soft color.

The location and the country feeling.

Comfortable and large rooms. Good beds. Everything you need in a charming old farmhouse.

The room was very cozy. I liked that there was a small sofa in the room. I found it very comfortable to watch tv. It was like staying over at a friend's house.

The property wasn’t what it was 20 years ago. The restaurant is working at minimal capacity. Weekdays the restaurant is only open until 2:00pm. They gave us a breakfast menu and when I asked for a lunch menu the hostess looked at me quizzically as if why wouldn’t I want to eat breakfast at 1:00pm. The menus had 6 items list available for breakfast and the same for lunch. The gift shop was shut down and there was no real bakery. So sad their restaurant isn’t up and running like before.
