Great Lake Motel Taupo

Very pleased with our stay. Parking good. Clean and very pleasant. Close to town. Staff excellent

The is a wonderful place to stay. 1) Awesome location (walk to town (2 minutes), right across from the lake front). 2) Exceptionally clean. Not a spec of dust. 3) Comfortable beds 4) Wonderful Spa Bath 5) Kitchen in the room as well. (Hob, Microwave, Jug, Crockery and Cutlery) 6) So friendly and helpful - We were swimming in the across the lake swim and they were very accommodating in allowing us a late checkout so we could pack up/shower after the event.

The location of the property is great. The front desk staff are not transparent. Some basic things like water bottles were not available even if you wanted to pay for it..

The Great Lake Motel Taupo has been a fantastic experience for us. The staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful. She helped us with our laundry; we needed our laundry to be done express, she allowed us to use their own dryer which was a lot faster and more powerful. A super nice lady :) The location of the motel is superb, it is within few minutes walk to the town center where there were many great eateries; it is also right in front of the lake Taupo and the "ILOVELAKETAUPO" sign. The room was in a very clean state and well set-up. In addition, the jacuzzi was amazing with full bubble function. We usually hesitate to use hotel's jacuzzi due to hygiene, but the Great Lake Motel was super clean and we felt very comfortable. We stayed at this place right after our big hike at the Tangariro. So the bubbly jacuzzi hit the spot :) All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and we would definitely come back to this place whenever we are in lake Taupo again. Highly recommended!

Stayed for two nights in a one bedroom unit. The unit was spotlessly clean. It was very peaceful quiet. The manager was fantastic. Pleasantly surprised. Close to the centre of Taupo. Will definitely be back.

Another great stay. Love this motel because of its location. It is a 3 minute walk to town which is super handy. The room was massive, clean and tidy. They have done some upgrades with a new key card entry and have a smart TV. The bathroom was big with a shower and spa.

Booked two twin rooms. We thought it a great location - easily walking distance to town. There's a Chargnet facility just acriss the road if you drive a hybrid. We found it a friendly service. Clean bed and kitchen and warm.

This is the closest motel to Taupo CBD, easy walking, less than 5 mins. Motel rooms are extremely clean and also roomy. Will stay again!

We only stayed for one night but this is a little gem of a motel right next to the lake. Very central and very, very close to cafes, bars and restaurants. Most located about 2 minutes away. The room we stayed in was immaculate from top to bottom. All the basic facilities you would need. But it was clean and smelt clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. SKY sports in each room which was a real bonus. We would definitely return to this motel if we came here again.

Stayed one night at Great Lake motel. At check in the receptionist insisted we had not paid for the room yet. So we paid. Upon investigation I had paid previously. Now we had paid twice. I approached reception later she told me she would sort it out with her manager. 3 emails later with receipts attached, a phone call, no response or resolution. Extremely poor customer service and communication. The motels in a great location. This was just a very disappointing experience we had.
