"Valentine’s Day Stay"

Overall the resort is clean, and the resort staff is friendly. We didn’t have the best experience at Piedmont’s for the Valentine’s Day Dinner, but everything else about the resort was great.

People like Rich in Valet greated us, made us feel personally welcome,remembered us throughout our stay, and nothing was out of his swim lane. He offered to assist with anything and everything! We LOVE Lansdowne Resort!

"Good hotel, comfortable rooms. Great gym and pool. Dining good though limited menu choice in bar/restaurant."

Stayed during January 26 winter storm so not many staff we able to make it to work. The staff who were there and were able to stay on site for the duration handled everything very professionally. One of the best equipped hotel gyms I've ever used. Pool very good too, although lacked a drying/spinning facilities for swim wear. Dining quality was good, though limited menu choice in the bar.

"Very nice stay!"

"Piedmont’s Experience"

Chacko provided one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. He was attentive without hovering, quick with recommendations, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our drinks and food arrived promptly, and he checked in at just the right times to make sure everything was perfect. His friendly attitude and professionalism really stood out and made the whole meal smooth and enjoyable. It’s clear he cares about his guests and takes pride in his work. We’ll definitely be back and ask for Chacko again

I attended here for a conference, and had a fabulous experience with all the guest staff, especially Rich on the valet team. Everyone was helpful, kind, and provided clear directions/recommendations of where to go.

"Lansdowne was Underwhelming"

The bellman was excellent—patient, professional, and very helpful. After check-in, he assisted us to our room. Unfortunately, when I opened the door, a strong and unpleasant odor hit us immediately. I couldn’t tell whether it was sewage or soiled clothing, but it was unacceptable. We returned to the front desk, received an apology, and were assigned a new room. Once settled, I went to dinner at Cotton & Rye. I ordered the lentil chili, truffle parmesan fries, and the mahi mahi. The chili was flavorful but lukewarm. I was served chicken instead of fish, and regular fries arrived instead of truffle fries. Although the server corrected the fries, they were cold, appeared hastily topped with parmesan, and lacked any noticeable truffle flavor. Back in the room, I attempted to shower before bed, but the water pressure was inconsistent. At that point, rather than change rooms again or continue to complain, I chose to deal with it. The following day, I was able to secure a last-minute massage appointment. The spa staff were accommodating, and the massage itself was excellent—one of the highlights of the stay. I would not recommend the Igloo Experience on a cold or windy day. The space is not conducive to those conditions. The heater was insufficient, the igloo was not secured well enough to block the wind, and the food—again from Cotton & Rye—arrived cold. While the wings were tasty, temperature of the food continued to be a recurring problem. For breakfast, I ordered room service on two occasions. Each time, the food arrived quickly but was cool to cold, which was puzzling given the short delivery time. The dining room, however, was welcoming, and Chacko provided exemplary service. He delivered the level of hospitality I would expect from Lansdowne—courteous, prompt, and personable with just the right amount of humor. The food there was also enjoyable. It has been some time since my previous visits to Lansdowne, but both prior experiences were outstanding. That is why this stay was so disappointing. While staff members were apologetic, repeated apologies can only go so far when the same issues occur across food service and accommodations.
