Hotel Carmel

Hotel is clean, shower worked great, check-in was easy. They have a breakfast/lunch/dinner place right next to the hotel that has good breakfast food. We wanted to go for dinner, but they close at 3:00 p.m.?? You get a discount if you show your hotel key. There is no fridge or microwave in the rooms, and if you want ice, you have to get it from the front desk. The beds in the room we had were extremely noisy and not comfortable, but we did see them putting new mattresses in some of the rooms. They say they have sound proof rooms but you could hear lots of noise from outside the room and outside the hotel. Overall, it was ok.

The hotel itself was great. Centrally located, so there was a lot of people traffic. We were woken up several times in the middle of the night from people outside, presumably walking home from bars. It’s a great place to stay, but I would not stay here again if I wanted a decent night sleep.

Great location. Room was clean but nothing special. Bed was not very comfortable.

The staff was incredibly wonderful, and helpful, and caring. I don’t think the establishment was worth the money we spent. The room was small and looked like a motel. The AC was loud.

Once a couple issues were handled everything was wonderful. Pleasant staff! Front desk was very helpful. When we left this morning early, I had to wake up the man sitting there to tell him we were leaving.

Really nice place near the Line 4 bus stop and Santa Monica Pier. There's accessibility to all kinds of things from this spot, something I truly appreciate when I book my stays. Everything worked well in the room, but the highlight was the bed. Great mattress/sheets/pillows. Staff was friendly and helpful.

overall the room was nice the weekend staff was super nice. the lady working Monday was very rude. The stumping from the people upstairs was annoying. valet was very convenient

The location of the property was awesome! Two blocks away from the pier, one from the promenade and a mall and one block from the beach! We walked everywhere we needed to go. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean. Would stay here again.

The area this hotel is in is LOUD day and night. People yelling on the streets, cars honking, loud mufflers, cars racing up the street. We had a hard time falling asleep each night. The beds and pillows are pretty hard. FYI there are no mini fridges in the regular rooms. Only 1 small elevator. We were a family of 4 with 2 teen girls and the small bathroom made for some big fights (that’s my fault, I’ll choose better next time). The area is very convenient to the pier and restaurants. There are a LOT of homeless people on the streets here.
