Casa Rural El Botánico

Location excellent, just across from the ayuntamiento. The house decor was nice. Such thoughtful facilities – the host had really thought of everything that one might need. Check-in was easy – after telephoning the number provided on Booking.com the keys were delivered to us within 10 minutes.

Nothing 😊

The place was clean. There was a kitchen, to be shared which was a bonus. There was a common space, although it had zero windows. It was quiet.

- I had to wait for people to come from another location to let me in.There is no reception - While the folks did eventually come to let me in, they explained nothing about the place, did not walk me around, did not show me the common areas, etc. - There is no WiFi at the property - Breakfast is not real, it was a few synthetic, sugary candies. - The town is miserable. - Seems overpriced based on lots of other stays I have had in Spain.

Had a lovely, spacious room in a beautiful house; nice view of the main square from the balcony. A comfortable bed. A well sourced kitchen; lovely sitting room area.

Unfortunately there was a main water leak in the village, which means there was no access to water, so no shower, no toilet, very limited use of kitchen. Was not told about it when I was given keys and only found out when standing in the shower. Other guests told me the problem. Contacted the owners. Was given opportunity to have a shower in one of their other accommodations, which I took. Obviously, they were equally frustrated by the water problem. Still no water the following morning and none by the time I left at 10.30. So, what could have been a very good stay, was spoiled by a complete absence of water. Messaged the owner after leaving, expressing my disappointment, and requesting a partially refund. By the time of writing, no response yet.

Very clean and nice location at the central plaza of Casatejada. Nice kitchen and dining room were we could prepare our meals and coffee, and wash our laundry.

Some other guests were smoking even in the kitchen and around the drying laundry.
