Monkstadt No 9 - Pretenders Escape

The apartment was excellent large with separate living, kitchen and bedroom and bathroom. Very comfortable and warm bed was 5 star. We ate at Monkstadt restaurant one night for a special occasion and was superb. Otherwise we ate in. Great location very scenic close to a number of iconic walks

The views from the property were great. We liked how quaint the property was and the history around it. We liked the kitchen facilities as it was a fair drive into other establishments for dinner (and with the snow and ice we didn't want to drive that road in the dark) so we made use of the kitchen for our dinner both nights.

The heaters in the bedroom didn't work too well (both radiator and plug in heating) but with the nice blanket on the bed that didn't matter too much in the end. There was a bit of mould residue in the windows of the bedrooms, which as someone who is affected by mould wasn't ideal but we do understand the climate there would be tricky to keep up with weather related issues.

The property is gorgeous and quiet. The room in specific overlooked the ocean which was amazing at sunrise abd sunset. We had all of the comforts of a hotel and more since it had a full kitchen abd living room. We loved that they had tea stocked in the room which saved us from going out for it. It was in a perfect location to go to any of the many hiking locations on skye.

We liked our accommodation very much we wished we could've stayed more days.

Host was excellent at communicating and checking in/out was easy and could be done without any in-person. Location was fantastic and the room was spacious and cosy.

We loved everything but if we had to be picky, it was quite tricky to find the correct lodgings when arriving at night and in the rain (signage not so visible and limited lighting etc. There was also some earthworks underway near our room which was a wee bit of an eyesore when looking at out the otherwise gorgeous ocean and farm views

This place is stunning and so peaceful. This was a dream trip and we only have two days!! I so wished we could’ve spent a week here alone. Already discussing plans to return. Everything was clean and so much detail was put into it to make it such a cozy spot!!

If I had to critique anything, I would say maybe a sign at monkstadt pushing you to keep going up the hill to find the rest of the places. We arrived late and we were so confused at first haha. We should’ve arrived sooner though.

Remote location with lovely views over the sea and out to the Western Isles. Well equipped and very comfortable.

A teapot in the kitchen would have been nice. We weren't impressed by some people in one of the adjacent units packing up their car and leaving at 5 in the morning.
