Tababela Land

The staff was very helpful and patiently worked through our language barrier.

I stayed here twice, each time for a single night (room 9 and room 6). The rooms do not have temperature control, the showers have room temperature water if you are lucky and low water pressure, noise levels made it very hard to sleep. Room 9 bathroom window opens into the hallway and would not close, so I had hallway noise coming into the room disturbing sleep. There was a large generator or machine right outside room 6 that kicked on around 3am and let out an inconsistent sound for about 45 minutes making sleep difficult. Others in my group also complained about the loud noises (dogs right outside room or large machine noises) disturbing their sleep. The showers had soap but the shampoo and conditioner containers were empty in both rooms. On the plus side - the staff is very nice. They held our luggage for many days inbetween the two nights I stayed at the hotel. At one point there was a security system offline that beeped every minute and the staff kindly turned it off (after I asked them to since it woke me up at midnight).

Tababela is a sleepy little town, but a great place to relax before a flight. Small and easy to get around and the folks at Tababela Land are friendly and very accomodating. We walked around the town and had lunch at Chester's Pizza which was in a park like setting and had great, friendly service. and good food at reasonable prices.

Pro: Reliable Wifi, friendly staff Con: Staff really does not speak a single English word The rooms are quite noisy from the floor Even though I found it not reliable but I had read that the hotel rooms have a lot of mosquitos. This was also true for my case. I had seven of those insects in my room and I did't get them all. The area has nothing to offer. I had a very late flight but did not want to go to Quito again. It proved to be a big mistake as I was bored all day long. In case you also have a late flight as I had, the staff charges you an extra night (including breakfast the next morning) which I found very inappropriate. I just booked the second night over this website to have at least the hotels.com rewards for paying an extra night.
