Wonderful place to stay in Masindi! The hosts, Doreen and Nicholas are wonderful! Tours can be easily booked for chimpanzee trekking, Kiwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls safaris. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean.

The restaurant next to the backpackers is overpriced and not that good. There’s no other choice though. Always ask what don’t they have first. Avoid ordering burgers as they don’t know how to make them. Wifi is very spotty and works best by the pool, not in the rooms. The bathrooms are a good walk away from the rooms as well. There’s a pool but it costs 20.000 UXG to access it.

Friendly staff, good price and option to use the swimming pool of the hotel next door (you need to pay a fee). My room was very convenient and I got a free upgrade, because the private room was free. On Sunday evening there was a live band playing with a very good atmosphere, lots of people visited.

It's quite far out if town, which is inconvenient with the food, because the food isn't that good. The bathrooms are quite far away from the rooms, which is not so nice in the dark (although the place is safe with a gate and security). Wifi wasn’t working properly, if you want to work, you need to go into town to Masindi hotel. Next time, I would stay somewhere else.

The environment is good but..

Everyday I had to change the room because of technical issues. Once the bed got bent and the other nights (3 in total )the lock was not working. I stayed in double rooms and the dorm then. The quality of materials its very bad, and the level of work done extremely poor. The rooms obviously share walls with each other, but there are huge gaps in between the pieces of wood. Some are huge like 10cm so you can see and introduce your hand in the other room if you want. It wouldn’t be a problem if you are in the dorm but if you are in the double you do not have privacy at all. The location of the toilets it is quite far away so you have to walk a lot through the area. They have a swimming pool but you have to pay for it, I would understand if you bring a guess, but no, if you are staying, unless in the other expensive rooms they have, you are gonna have to pay daily if you wanna use it. Once I paid for the buffet which is not included, and it was the worst restaurant, food I have had in my entire life. Some not well cooked pasta, rice, bones with a little bit of hard to bite meat and ketchup. I think was my second night, after hearing noises in the middle of the night I turned on the light and huge rats climbing the walls. Regarding this, I have to say that they throw the garbage to an open area so it is exposed and doesn’t look very clean, even after burning it is visible and animals eating from there. Last, regarding tours the info is confusing and quite overpriced.

The manager and staff were very hospitable and professional; They were very kind to us and even welcomed us earlier than the arrival time and gave us more time to rest in the check-out novel. The surrounding area was very beautiful; The colorful and beautiful wooden huts are very comfortable. I will definitely introduce this place to my friends and we will definitely go there many times. I would like to thank the employees and management.

There is nothing to criticize

The garden and pool is very nice and beautiful. Very close to masindi. Breakfast lunch and dinner is buffet for 20k but you can get much better food in town for WAY cheaper. The guy who checked us in was Very friendly and had an amazing smile and energy and was super friendly and helpful, tho failed to communicate about pool fees which I was unexpectedly being demanded to pay

My room had rats and bats. The bats are flying around up top at night and the rats ate my fruit and chips that were in my room overnight 🤮🤮🤢🤢 The rooms don’t have any sound separations from any other rooms. So you can hear everyone in other rooms doing things as quiet as breathing. Also the rooms are made of a tree house style wood that doesn’t keep heat in and can get very cold at night. There is slots in between the wood that you can see outside and into other rooms, which allows bugs and mosquitos inside. Not to mention it is located right next to the road so the loud trucks can disturb your sleep seriously WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms and didn’t work most of the time. The pool is an additional 20k which I was NOT told and later was charged and forced to pay, which is crazy because what kind of cheap hotel will charge their own guests just to use their own pool??? We literally jumped in just to refresh and got out right away and they charged us 20k. I thought they were trying to cheat me, but that’s actually something they charge. VERY weird… in my 2,000 + hotels I’ve stayed in I’ve never seen one do this. Showers do not have hot water
