"Don’t stay here!"

2.0

I don’t know where the people who left positive reviews stayed, but it wasn’t at Hook’s Hideaway. We were stuck staying here because there is no cell coverage and we couldn’t book anything else. It is creepy. There’s no microwave, no tv (which is okay) , air conditioner is in a hallway outside room, heater is decorative electric, no staff after 9, outside door was not secure, motel appears to be in the middle of a construction site down a very long gravel road. The motel itself looks like a DIY project. I can’t believe it gets so many stars on Trip Advisor. This is my first great disappointment in Trip Advisor’s recommendations.

This is truly a hideaway. The property is out of town and very secluded. It looks like a metal building - which it is - but the rooms are nice. Ours even had a little electric fireplace. We’d stay again.

It was out of the way and private. Very quiet. Price was very good. Zero amenities.

The BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: “”NO TV”” !!!!! The room was excellent. BED WAS GREAT. Very comfortable. Got a good nights sleep. QUIET !!! Biggest issue “ NO TV”. You need to fix that.

Looks like a horse stable in the middle of nowhere, but the rooms are clean and specious. Truly hidden away four miles down an unpaved road. Quiet and secluded. No shopping, no restaurants, nothing except a ranch in the neighborhood. But if you are looking for a place to stay near the east entrance to Glacier NP, this is one of the few choices that fills the bill. I recommend.

This place is quite nice overall though with some caveats. Location is quiet and not too far from Many Glacier park entrance. Nothing in the area nearby so it’s quiet but just a place to relax after leaving the park. Individual rooms off two corridors at either long side of the building. Nothing fancy but efficient. The AC units are window units at either end of the hallways so leaving the window open during the day allows the room to cool. A bit noisy to leave it open at night so rooms in mid portion of the building will be quieter but warmer. WiFi signal varies between locations in rooms and room to room but always seemed to be available. It is, however, very slow so one has to really temper one’s expectations. Downloads can be an issue at the best of times so it’s kinda off the grid while not being totally so. Perhaps they have to use dial up connection from their router to the service provider due to the extremely rural nature of the property as I doubt cable gets there (no TV so it doesn’t do that) and I saw no satellite dish. Quality food options on the east side of the park are quite limited. Nothing remotely approaching fine dining or healthy eating (depending on your habits). Reviews of places also tend to be overly optimistic for St Mary’s locations and Babb area.

This is a fine place to stay for a couple nights. The beds are comfy & the shower is nice. There is a microwave available as well as a coffee maker. Our WiFi didn’t work getting to this hideaway but the motel had WiFi and no tv.

"Don’t judge a book by its cover "

6.0

Located in a farming area outside of Babb , and a couple of miles off the main highway and accessed by a decent gravel road . About 15 minutes from the two restaurants in the Babb area . Exterior of “motel”very unwelcoming on appearance, but room was clean , well appointed and the bed was comfortable . About 15 miles from Canadian border and less than an hour from Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta Canada. Also about an hour from East Glacier Village . Good accommodations at a reasonable cost if you want to visit each NP. Waterton Lakes is incredible and not too crowded in mid August .

No ice, no a/c in room, a lot of areas to damage your ankles on the corners of wood framed mattress boxes
