Days Inn by Wyndham Nanaimo

The rooms are adequate for our needs. It is great having the Ricky's restaurant as part of this motel, and the meals there are excellent. This Days Inn is in an excellent location, a short 12 minute drive to / from the Duke Point ferry, and also a short drive to the home of our family whom we go to visit. Even being situated right on the main highway, it is very quiet overnight. The location is mere minutes to downtown, and the lower Haliburton road is very convenient to take you right to the harbour park area or shopping areas without having to get on and off the main highway.

The bedroom area is a good size but there is no place other than the floor to set down suitcases other than one chair. It would be great to have those folding suitcase stands. We use the one chair for one suitcase and the second suitcase then sits in the front room by the coat rack. For longer stays, like a week or more, a dresser with drawers would also be a nice convenience so we don't have to live out of the suitcase. There really is plenty of room in the bedroom for placement of a suitcase stand, another chair, and a dresser. Other than this, all else is just fine.

Good location, close to ferries. Loved that there was a Ricky’s restaurant on location

They layout was a bit odd and we wanted to use our own firestick and kids wanted to use their gaming system but there was no access to the hook ups.

Lobby level was perfect Pool was great, quite busy though

The staff were friendly. Loved the courtesy phonecall and the apologies when the electricity went out. Break Fast was ok

Our room was pretty run down. Scrapes all over the walls in bathroom and near chair. Rooms weren't very soundproof, especially the showers. Ran fan in room to block out highway noise, despite being at the back of the hotel. Could do with blackout curtains on the Rooms at the back where the sun rises. Hot tub jets weren't all that powerful at all.

We registered for 2A, 2K but only had enough towels for 3 in the bathroom. You ran out of pool towels. The back door was locked before the 9:00pm time on the sign. The coffee machine in the breakfast station the next morning didn’t work. Ricki’s was a terrible experience we walked out.
