The Fox & Hounds Inn & Camping Pods

We had reserved a hotel at 8 o'clock. However, due to uncontrollable factors such as being unable to get a taxi and the train not departing until 10:30 p.m., we didn't arrive at the hotel until 11:30 p.m. At that time, we were unable to check in and had to wait with other guests in the lobby to avoid the cold. During this period, we made numerous calls but still couldn't check in. We could only stay in the lobby for the night. We hope the hotel can refund the money and offer compensation.

pod a bit small bed quite hard could,nt sleep come back early

Great pub and the glamping pods were a great novelty to stay in

We stayed in a camping pod. The pod was very cosy & warm. The good breakfast was adequate & hot.

The camping facilities need improving 4 showers/ toilets to 9 camping pods each accommodating 2 people. No heating in the shower/ toilet. Not enough water pressure when using more than 1 tap. Although the water was hot. Only one chair in the pod no table either in the pod or kitchen. Luckily there were only the 2 of us on the camping site. If it were busy I could imaging it being a nightmare using the camping facilities. We stayed 3 days 13th November 2025. The outside solar lighting around the carpark shower block , was not working, this meant walking across a sloping gravel carpark to get to the shower / kitchen block in the dark very awkward. Could do with kettle tea coffee facilities in each pod. We had an evening of strong wind & heavy rain were having to carry drinks food over from the kitchen to the pod. We have spend many years camping, I would say our stay was overpriced. The facilities let it down. I Would not rebook because of these reasons. Hopefully in the coming years this will be resolved. Hotel was clean breakfast was hot & adequate although no choice in toast.
