Hótel Djúpavík

I loved the remoteness of the location. It is situated perfectly within its surrounding overlooking the sea. The interior decorations are what really makes this place, as it connects to the Icelandic heritage the owner strives to protect.

The shared toilets were not ideal. However, I was aware of this when booking and it did not present as an issue because it was clearly marked before booking.

Food was delicious in restaurant, the lamb was superb. Loved the hotel, interesting history. Beautiful location. Hotel employees very friendly and helpful.

Aamiainen oli runsas, vaihtelua vähän kaipasin. Kodikas tunnelma ja mukava henkilökunta. Näköala ikkunasta hieno merelle!

Koska hotelli on ainoa ruokapaikka laajalla alueella, ruokalista on köyhähkö, saatavilla olleet ruuat kyllä ihan OK.

La casa storica da fuori è molto affascinante ma quando entri la magia finisce. Spazi angusti, scarsa igiene con polvere ovunque, mobili vecchi mal tenuti( divani e poltrone sfondati) scala di legno per salire alle camere insicura e senza illuminazione, termosifoni vecchissimi, utensili da cucina insufficienti e inutilizzabili ( pentole incrostate) Rapporto qualità prezzo pessimo anche per gli standard islandesi

A superb hotel in the tiny village of Djúpavík. The location is very central once you get there, which is subject to the road conditions, completely out of the hotel's jurisdiction of course. The room was comfortable, double bed, view outside to the nature, a tap and sink in the room for added comfort, and a foldable table. WiFi throughout the place, at times a bit slow, but still very fine. Breakfast included as continental buffet, was able to ask for plant-based milk as well for the cereal which they had. Staff are very friendly and they have a very atmospheric place, free tea/coffee station always stocked up, and even a puzzle on the go that everyone can help with. You can inquire about the tours to the old herring factory from there, as it is the same owners and they do daily tours at 10am for less than 4k ISK, which is well worth it to be told so much about the history of the place and its importance.

Never experienced myself during the stay, but maybe one shower and toilet can get busy at times.

Die Lage ist super. Das Personal freundlich und kompetent. Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut! Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist eine Tour durch die alte Fischfabrik!

The story of the Djupavik is fascinating. The surroundings are fabulous - and the hotel absolutely unique.

That I had to leave so soon.
