Sehr nettes Personal. Man fühlte sich sehr gut umsorgt.

Le seul problème du séjour est le petit déjeuner buffet, normalement inclus dans le prix. A notre arrivée , pas de restauration. En insistant, nous avons eu un croissant et un demi sandwich.

O quarto onde nos colocaram foi o quarto mais quente que já fiquei em 20 anos de viagem pela Europa, simplesmente terrível!!! Não tinha ar condicionado, tampouco ventilador. Não conseguimos dormir, tamanho o calor. Jamais voltaria. Funcionários muito atenciosos.

The hotel was close to KIT, which is what I needed. My room wasn't fancy, but it was spacious and comfortable, and the floors didn't squeak, which is very nice for an old building. The reception staff were very nice and helpful.

Das Zimmer war eher klein, aber vollkommen ausreichend und leise. Allerdings war es nicht wirklich sauber. Insbesondere der Holzboden hatte eine schmierige Schicht und wurde offensichtlich zwar mal gesaugt aber ewig nicht gewischt. Das Personal ist nett und man kann an der Straße kostenlos parken.

Let me start off by saying this is a review for the hotel part of the Hoepfner Burghof. They also have a restaurant, which you can look up separately here on TripAdvisor. The restaurant is amazing and I will definitely recommend eating there. As far as the hotel goes, they do exactly enough to get a passable rating .The rooms are average. The bed is large enough to suit a tall person as myself, but the bedding is too small. Convincing the staff to give me a second piece of bedding (could not get a larger because "STANDARD SIZE ONLY") took 15 minutes. For some reason it also meant they took one of my pillows from the bed as payment.. Congratulations Hoepfner Burghof, you foiled my plan of hiding a 2nd person in my room. That level of mistrust is better served in motel rooms you rent by the hour than in your kind of establishment. The shower was tiny and had a plastic shower curtain, which attached itself to you like saran wrap the moment you turned on the shower. This also caused the bathroom to flood within 5 minutes, which I couldn't see until I was done showering thanks to said curtain. Vicious circle. The room I was in had poor connection to the WiFi which made it impossible to get any work done. Breakfast adheres to the same principle. Barely passes the bar. Don't touch the eggs after 7.00, as I am sure they leave them there for the remainder of morning breakfast. The selection is nice but its all prepackaged or canned. Tables are made at the start of service and not cleaned until afterwards. It is with great reluctance someone was willing to move some dishes around after mentioning it to the staff. The Hoepfner Burghof is an old and very traditional restaurant owned by a brewery. It is close to the main cemetery of the town, so I - like many - may associate it a bit with funeral dinners I attended here. Nevertheless it is a huge place offering traditional Badenian food - and that of high standard. In summer time the are operating a beer garden as well. As we remembered that place from old times I came here with a friend, just for a nice lunch, and starting with an excellent lentil soup for free, we enjoyed a very good lunch (we had to pay of course), and got a free dessert on top. The service was frankly and family-like and we enjoyed some nice hours.

The hotel is located very close to the university. So, it is ideal for those who are visiting the university area for business purposes (as I did). I stayed only for one night and my overall experience was good. The staff is very polite, however I was surprised when I realised that some of the receptionists did not speak (good) English. It looks like a family hotel, but it offers services of good quality at a reasonable price. The hotel is well decorated providing a traditional German atmosphere. The distance to the city centre is walkable (almost 15 minutes walking) but if you want to be right at the heart of the city you should choose another hotel. There is a very nice restaurant next to the hotel which is highly recommended (especially in the spring and summer).

The people are very kind and offer excellent service. There is a nice restaurant and it is not far from the city. The rooms are clean and tidy, the breakfast is good and rich. On my last day I was leaving very early in the morning and they surprised me with a small package with breakfast for my trip.
