Ishmajoso Lodge

Please don't be fooled by the pics that you see on the internet . I went there the end of march the amenities that was promised was not provided. There was no laundry provided . It was very hot inside the hotel the air was not running properly i had to go and purchase a fan. I was there for two days before i had to request for them to come and change the sheets on my bed. The room was very small we was promised a bigger ro on the lower level never got it . The bathroom was not clean around the shower looked like it had mold around it and it. I requested for it to be clean and it still did not look clean . Now mind you i had to leave the hotel cause i just was not satisfied and they was still expecting me to pay full balance. I told the manager saw if you was in america you could not get away with this , he then stated this is not america it Africa . I was so appalled and he should have been ashamed of what he said but was not. Please dont be fooled by these pics the was horrible.

Staff were friendly, atmosphere relaxed, facilities good. Lodge located within a local neighbourhood off the tourist trail but with easy access to beaches, the capital and local facilities.

Das Zimmer war bei Ankunft sehr dreckig und wurde von mir gründlich sauber gemacht. Das Management sah keinen Handlungsbedarf. In den zwei Wochen Aufenthalt wurde nur einmal das Zimmer gereinigt. Das Badezimmer gar nicht. Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht. WLan nur zeitweise. Sehr viele Stromausfälle. Die Küche war noch nicht fertig; die Alternative war eine Zumutung. Das Personal faul. Beim Frühstück hat sich das Personal kaum gekümmert; aber vorgedrängelt um sich selbst etwas zu essen zu machen. Bettwäsche und Handtücher wurden nur auf Druck ausgegeben. Am Telefon vom Besitzer verhöhnt und verlacht. Trotz des günstigen Preises ist das Hotel überbezahlt.

Great lodge, I was happy with my stay and very impressed with the way the staff handled the Local electric power cut by making sure it had little affect to mine and the other guess stay. The food was well prepared and the rooms were comfortable adequate for my needs with cable tv. Friendly staff always willing to assist you and fulfill your needs. Although the lodge was off the main road I found that it did not affect me as there was local taxis available and which are very cheap.

I rarely provide reviews, for no particular reason. I am a traveler and don’t always find the time. However, my stay at Ishmajoso was very special. The amenities are well worth the price. What sets this particular lodge apart from the many, many places I have stayed are the staff. They are quite simply wonderful. It was difficult to move on and continue my travels.

My stay at Ishmajoso Lodge could not have been any better. The rooms were spacious and clean. The warm welcome of Claudius and his team made my time in Freetown as easy as it could be. Though the hotel is slightly out of the town center - not necessarily a bad thing (!) - the transport to and from was always quite simple and economical. Also its location means that you are near the best beaches in town (plus they have a car with driver available to be rented for a very fair hourly rate). Finally, please note that I am writing this a couple of weeks after leaving the hotel - and I can honestly say that Freetown, thanks to the efforts of the Ishmajoso team, was the definite highlight of my three week trip through West Africa!

I luved the cleaniness of the property the fresh and clean bedsheets and towels but most importantly the variety of breakfast options in the morning. Lunch snd dinner can be freshly cooked to order on time which really blew me away . The bar was well stocked and beers and soft drinks always cold the bsr staff are always very pleasant and helpful very good place to stay

It was amazing, successful and accomplished!
