This was an overnight stay en route to St. Louis from Dallas. We decided to split the trip in half and spend the night at the Joplin Fairfield Inn. First, the good news is that the front desk staff was pleasant, efficient, and helpful. The included breakfast is good and the eating area clean, and well attended by staff. On the surface, the room looked great. The bed was conformable, TV offered plenty of options, and after 6 hours on the road, we were tired. It wasn't until morning that I noticed the room needed a deep cleaning. The carpet needed vacuuming, there was leftover food on the fridge, and the bathroom looked like it was wiped, not scrubbed. The shower had caked in soap in the lower grout, and one end appeared to have mold in the crevices. Perhaps it was our room because when I showed the front desk the pictures, they were properly embarrassed and said they would look into it. Not sure I would go back since there are options.

Directly off the highway, many restaurants to choose from, and extremely friendly front desk employees.

Could definitely use some updates in the room and very limited breakfast options.
