Princeton Marriott at Forrestal

A Wonderful Stay at the Marriott Princeton Forrestal — With One Thoughtful Suggestion I recently stayed at the Marriott Princeton Forrestal while attending a conference I last enjoyed fifteen years ago, and I’m so glad I returned. From the moment I arrived, the staff set a welcoming tone. Julia made check‑in smooth, easy, and pleasant, and Frantz was just as helpful and gracious during check‑out. Their professionalism and kindness truly stood out. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, exactly what you hope for during a multi‑day conference. I did, however, discover that my room was about 175 steps from the elevator, down what felt like three hallways. While I don’t want to sound agist, I do think the Front Desk might consider the age or mobility of guests when assigning rooms — especially those with bulky luggage or, like me, recovering from a recent hip replacement. The walk was… formidable. I did mention it to Julia, and she kindly offered to move me, but by then I had already unpacked. Her willingness to help was appreciated. The restaurant exceeded expectations for a hotel lobby eatery. I ordered something I rarely choose in restaurants — a cheeseburger — and I’m glad I did. It was juicy, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. Kyle, who was working at an Olympian pace, never missed a beat. His service was attentive, upbeat, and impressive. As for the conference itself, the coffee breaks were excellent, and for anyone who has been to this property before and wonders: Yes, they still have those fresh‑tasting, super‑sized potato chips. They remain as addictive as ever. Overall, my stay at the Marriott Forrestal was comfortable, welcoming, and well‑supported by an outstanding staff. With just a bit more attention to room placement for guests with mobility concerns, it would be close to perfect. I would absolutely stay again.

The venue was very attractive, classy. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Clean and quiet.

No problems whatsoever.

Location was good for what I needed it for - Princeton Campus Atmosphere was nice "cute" on the lobby floor... Room was not impressive - nor was leading up to the room. Very outdated, definitely need new carpets. Electricity was spotty - lights/tv kept flickering (the weather was not an issue) A/C was not functioning (maintenance man was very nice and efficient) still worked a minimum. It was tolerable not comfortable. The elevator was a sauna. Value wise... for a Marriott I expect more and in this area - definitely expected more. Noise - I was given a room far from the lobby (I was okay with this) but I heard running and screaming down the halls until a little past 2 am - very displeasing. Afternoon/evening staff were pleasant but the morning staff that was there when I arrived were not that friendly.

I was here for two nights for a small reunion of friends. My room, a king bed guest room, was adequately sized, with a very comfortable bed, a very large TV, a desk, a small sofa with a work table for a laptop, a coffeemaker, and a small fridge which was not cold enough (typical for many hotels). Blackout curtains were a nice plus. There was a full length mirror, but the lighting near it was not sufficient; that carried over into the bathroom, where the shower area was rather dark. However, there was a very well-lit mirror above the sink (the sink was outside of the room with the toilet and the shower). The room had a decent number of outlets. The soundproofing is very good; the hotel was packed the weekend I stayed, and while I could hear people in their rooms when I was in the corridors, once I was in my room, it was perfectly quiet. Convenient access to Route 1, Princeton, and, perhaps most important, Tino's Artisan Pizza in Kingston. Skip the hotel restaurant, which is overpriced and has second-rate food.

Far from the airport and a bit expensive

From the moment of arrival, the experience was flawless. The bell staff, front desk, and housekeeping team each delivered a level of service that easily exceeds a five-star standard. Our family felt genuinely welcomed and exceptionally well cared for throughout our stay. What truly set this property apart, however, was Lori Rezendes. I initially assumed she was the General Manager—she carried herself with that level of ownership and presence. She was consistently visible, engaging with guests, ensuring satisfaction, and stepping in wherever needed without hesitation. Lori embodies what hospitality is supposed to be. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and leadership elevate the entire operation. She is, without question, a standout and a major asset to the Marriott brand. Recognition at the highest level would be more than deserved.
