Comfort Inn & Suites Irving Las Colinas DFW

we love the lobby area, the room, staff always willing to help and location. every time that we need to pass by a couple 3-4 days in Irving area we choose this Hotel.

Always like Comfort Inns. Usually good clean, comfortable and a good value for the money.

No problems checking in. Then down the hall to the elevator. I don’t know if I would have passed out if my room was on the 3rd floor. The stench in the elevator was overwhelming. A combination of chemical and something else. Except for my departure, I used the stairs anytime I went up or down to the first floor, even though I have arthritic knees. When I entered my room, again another stench, but this wasn’t near as bad. I wanted to open the window but it was clamped shut. ( don’t know why there was a screen on the window) I noticed then that the shade didn’t work. It was stuck half way closed. I called the front desk and, in just a few minutes, there was someone to fix it. He was able to lower it. I didn’t dare touch it in case it would, again not work. When I went to open it the next morning, it did, again, get stuck half way up. Main problem was that my room was directly over the laundry. During the next several hours, several times throughout, it sounded as if I was over a subway as a train passed under. The rumble and noise made it difficult to watch tv or take a nap. I went to the front desk to ask at,around 5:00 pm, to change rooms. He mentioned that the laundry closed at 5. When he asked if I had “used” the room, I told him that I had thrown something in the garbage. This seemed to delight him because now he had a reason to deny my request. When I returned to the room, the noise kept up, about once every 5 minutes for about 10 seconds to a minute. The noises didn’t stop until after 6:30, but they did start up again the next morning just after 10. I find the true test of any business is how they handle problems/issues. I would score this place a D-.
