Convenient location

Dated, in need of upgrades. Mattresses felt like a sleeper sofa. The headboard had what appeared to be smeared blood or pizza sauce. Gaps between wall and ac unit covered with clear packaging tape that dint stick to the wall. Overwhelming odor of PineSol.

"Price gouging due to supply/demand of rooms in Phoenix."

$50 room was $230 due to limited room availability around Phoenix. My flight was delayed from 8 pm until 5 am the next morning. It was spring break. I had limited choice for rooms. It would have not been my choice to stay at Howard Johnson for $230/night.

Location is close to airport

Small 🪳 cockroach and other bugs come out at night. Room stunk. Room heater makes a smokey smell. Bathroom was OK, but could be better. A say avoid this location, until it has a full remodel and cleaning. Have to admit I thought Howard Johnson and Windham were good hotels, but this one was disappointing we checked out earlier then we had planned on. And lucked out on catching an earlier flight home. I will be avoiding this location in the future.

"You get what you pay for"

You get what you pay for, the room wasn’t necessarily dirty but not the cleanest. Had a nasty smell, the tv didn’t work, and one of the outlets was loose. It was a great location near the airport and if you just need a bed to sleep for an early flight this room will do.
