The Cheshire

The hotel was disgustingly dirty. The tub bottom was black. The bath mat was black. There was no fan in the bathroom, so who knows what mold is growing there. My mom’s room literally had a hole in the door. Everything was very worn and run down. The sink in the bathroom ended up clogging the morning of our departure. Rooms were $200+ a night on top of that! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. One of the worst, if not the worst, hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

First time and we loved the hotel and the Fox and Hound and Basso

Really unique hotel, but it needs a deep clean. It’s not uncomfortably dirty but it’s getting close. Cool theme, fun pub, service is just ok. Bed was comfortable but I think my sheets were 20 years old.

The room was cleaned. Staff was friendly. The Loop (dining, shops) is about less than a mile. The area is fine.

Air-conditioning dirty in room. Hallways need cleaned. Elevator needs cleaned and serviced. Homeless people around area. Need more security in basement parking garage.

The ambiance and overall experience was superb. A few things could use a spruce-up. (ie. replace the rusty shower curtain rod, perhaps larger bath towels). Otherwise, accommodations were quite satisfactory. The bar tender, Chris, at Fox & Hounds Tavern was spectacular!! All staff were cordial and attentive! We love The Cheshire, and it will remain our destination for our stays in St. Louis!

It was a great stay in a unique hotel. I like the ambience and the author themed rooms was cool. The Fox and the hound bar that's awesome too.
