We arrived at the Mattis house, it was charmingly decorated inside and out for the holiday. I adored the beautiful piano music being played on the first floor during tea services.

Mathis House should NOT be calling itself a B&B ….the owners (no-shows during our stay there) seem more interested in running their over-priced, afternoon tea business than in accommodating overnight guests: we were greeted by the tea hostess / manager who had no record of our reservation at check-in. Room decor was gawdy faux Victorian (think Marshall’s or Home Goods) with the place decked out from floor to ceiling in cheesy, Christmas bric-a-brac and giant candy canes adorning the property — two weeks BEFORE Thanksgiving. No soap / shampoo in our moldy bathroom and a communal, non-working mini fridge in the upstairs hallway intended for our dinner doggy bags added to a very dismal overnight stay. NOT RECOMMENDED.

The property is darling... the room we stayed in was spectacular... from decor to comfort to function! Breakfast was delightful! I lived in NJ up until a couple of years ago... I am not sure why I did not know about this place but I can tell you we will stay there going forward! There aren't any decent hotels in Brick, Toms River area... do yourself a favor and book to stay here! The room rate was very reasonable and worth every single penny! Thank you for such a marvelous experience!

The Mathis house to beautiful bed and breakfast to stay. It is like a vacation for so close to home. Vicki and her staff provider wonderful hospitality. The breakfast alone makes the stay wonderful. Just a very warm environment. Treated like family. Thank you Vicki . Will be back soon
