I love all of the Victorian charm and elegance and the breakfast is always delightful and delicious. I choose to stay at the Mathis House any time it is available and I am in town. My husband loves it also. The owner and staff are wonderful. Just a wonderful place to stay. They really pamper you.

This felt like a home - everyone was nice that worked there, food was great, place is historic with lots of charm, tea room and whole house decorated. I would stay here again over a hotel any day of the week. Thanks

Didn’t like the stairs. ( my mobility issues ) Wi-Fi very temperamental Very high bed. (again my mobility issues) very comfortable though Breakfasts unique and delicious Staff most helpful ( a step to help me get into bed ) and very kindly. A unique destination especially if you love afternoon tea
