Holiday Inn - Salem by IHG

Staff was nosey and I had to be let in after 11:00 and the lady seemed angry when she came to let me in and she asked me are you going to go out anymore tonight it's like I don't know I'm a grown man maybe. And lieutenant or maintenance guy or whoever will sweep in the parking lot pick something up that fell out of my car I don't know what it was and put in his pocket it was something small I asked him what it was he just walked away and didn't answer me.

No hot tub.

The pool was nice. The restaurant staff was excellent and the food was good. The rooms were clean.

The hotel staff was standoffish to the point where it felt like we were bothering them for even staying there and not helpful at all. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Our air unit kept shutting off in the room. The TV was ancient and the HDMI cord wasn't working properly. We had to wiggle it and rotate the TV to get it in just the right spot to work. We couldn't stream anything to it. When we went to the pool there weren't any towels. We asked for more and 3 more we're brought in despite there being at least 12 guests in the pool. When we asked for more they said there were no more available.

The room smelled like stale perfume. The carpet had a seam that was in the middle of the room that stuck up about 3 inches. Not only unattractive but a hazard. For some strange reason there was no toilet seat lid. The view was of the roof. If we had opened the window we could have stepped onto the roof. The roof was filthy! There was an ancient broom left on the roof with some pile of debris that had not been swept up. There was so much dirt on the roof. Horrible view. The room was very stuffy/dusty. The pillows were flat as pancakes. Speaking of pancakes the restaurant staff was obsessed with vouchers. We did not have a breakfast voucher so the menu was snatched from my husband’s hand and he was given a menu for the less fortunate people who did not have vouchers. Husband said the eggs Benedict was the worst he has ever had. The location is off the freeway for easy access and there is a pot shop directly across the street for easy access to your weed. Very seedy area. Would not recommend this hotel.
