I DO NOT recommend this property. This listing is NOT a resort. While well-appointed, it is a home. The owners live on the ENTIRE main floor. Had we realized, we never would’ve booked these accommodations. It is located right next to highway 64. The drone of traffic is constant. Hospitality was poor. Upon expressing dissatisfaction to the homeowner, he took what we could best describe as an authoritarian stance. It was intimidating. We worried. We had already paid for our stay, photocopies of our credit cards and identification had been made upon arrival, and our suite had uninhibited access from the game room. Even our door in the stairwell didn’t have a lock to secure our suite when we weren’t there. Aside from the pool, use of the amenities was awkward. Access to ice, refrigeration, or a microwave is inconvenient. While we thought to make the best of it, dissatisfied, we left a day early. We did feel valued as guests. We ended up booking another hotel for two nights after leaving “The Lakeside Resort.”

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. The owners were very nice. We were taken on a tour right after arrival,explained the rules and able to ask questions. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and large. It is a unique place and we are glad we stayed.
