"Lovely, unless you need wireless internet access"

4.0

Lovely hotel with male "club-like" atmosphere and decor. The biggest issue is the Intercontinental Phnom Penh's internet access: if you're planning to use a small computer or iPad or any device that does not accept WIRED connections (the only choice in the rooms), you have to go to the LOBBY to use wireless internet access, since that's the only place wireless is available. Not only that, but you have to pay $15 extra for wireless internet access-- on top of your room rate-- for the inconvenience of having to sit in the lobby instead of your room in order to get wireless. Take a taxi from the airport instead of calling the hotel to pick you up: taxi is $9 and they know how to find it (about 20-25 minutes from airport), hotel shuttle is $25.

"Excellent Business hotel"

8.0

The Intercon is an excellent business hotel. The public areas are modern and stylish, the rooms good, the views over the city interesting. Excellent is breakfast: the staff, the room, the ambiance, the food. Excellent is the pool, very relaxing. Pretty good is also the gym. Annoying is the icecold airconditioning in the bar area - it certainly does not invite to stay. The big asset is the hotel's staff who are most friendly and helpful.

"Great respite after a 6 hour bus trip form Siem Reap. facilities very comforting"

8.0

After a 6 hour bus trip from Siem Reap we found this Hotel a total Oasis, totally unexpected for a city like Phnom Penh. Beds very comfortable, shower amazing, very happy with all that the Hotel offered including the snacks provided with our cocktails.

"Good Hotel Aimed at Business Traveller Rather than Leisure"

10.0

We chose this hotel largely based on price and favourable reviews. It is a 5 star at a very affordable rate. We had no complaints. The hotel met international standards, staff was helpful and we enjoyed our one night here. Arrived in Phnom Penh by air from Bangkok. Picked up by an acquaintance. Drive from the airport to the hotel is about 20 minutes. The hotel is located on Mao Tse Toung Blvd. is close to the city centre but not really in the heart of it. I guess it's about 3.5 km. (2 miles) from the centre. if you choose to stay here you might need a taxi, a tuk-tuk or make an arrangement for a car to access Phnom Penh's main sites. Phnom Penh is relatively compact and if you have the time you can walk downtown easily enough. Note - it can be very hot and humid and it really does rain in the rainy season. The building is a low rise structure on large relatively secluded grounds. On arrival, your bags will be taken by the bellman to check in which in our case was rapid. The bellman then aided us up yo our room. The room is clean, comfortable and relatively large. TV included several English language options. Some of the furniture looked slightly old but overall I would rate the room as 4.8 out of 5. We did not use any of the facilities as we went sight seeing about 40 minutes after arrival, came back late and checked out early to catch a bus to Siem Reap. Overall impression - comfortable room in a hotel of international standards but no distinctly Cambodian flavour.
