Wow what an amazing property and such nice hosts. Also incredibly generous breakfast! We loved walking around the gardens and seeing the doves and chickens.

The hosts, the location, the view, everything was very clean and also very appealing to the eye. Breakfast was delicious! Best nights sleep in a long time!

Lesley and John were wonderful engaging hosts that love sharing their historic home. The gardens are a work of love and a delight to explore. The breakfast was exceptional and lovely to meet other travelers at the meal. It was an easy walk into the center of town to explore the beautiful town of Akaroa.

Everything was great

Lesley and John were fabulous hosts. Blythcliffe has an amazing garden, it was close to the centre of town, the room was exactly as advertised with a very comfortable bed and a bath and shower. The breakfast was lovely with freshly made fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, toast and eggs. They catered well for my gf coeliac diet even buying a new toaster for me! Lesley also helped out with access to the washing machine. There was a sitting room for guest use with a bar fridge and tea and coffee and sensational view over the garden to the harbour. The house is closing in May for a year for some major repairs and renovations. It will be amazing when it reopens.

The house is very old with steep narrow stairs that may be a problem for some guests (the self contained cottage is in ground level). Only one bedroom has an ensuite (our room) the other has a private bathroom immediately next door.
