Alpen Deluxe Oberammergau

Well equipped

Everything was almost OK!

We couldn't find the washing-machine, although it was listed in the facilities. No place to sort glass bottles and cans?!?

The space, it was near the centre, the pool and alpine coaster

Nothing! It was great!

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, which was on the first floor(that's the second floor for Americans like us). The building is set back from the street, and the two bedroom apartment is on the back side of the building. You walk to the side and behind one of the neighboring buildings with a sign guiding the way. The two bedroom apartment has the main bedroom on one end, with a long hallway connecting it to the open plan kitchen/dining/living room on the other end of the apartment. From the hallway, you also access the bathroom and small bedroom with the bunk beds. We appreciated the two balconies on each end of the apartment to enjoy the tranquil location. Everything inside was clean and well maintained. Nice and quiet, even on the weekend. The friendly hosts were very quick to respond to questions we had through the booking.com website during our stay. We wanted to do laundry, and the owner quickly met me in the building's laundry room to show me what was available to use, as well as offering laundry detergent. She spoke English, but I did my best with German when we messaged each other. The location was convenient and close to fun things in Oberammergau(10 minute walk) and also seconds away from a beautiful scenic countryside landscape. We went for an evening walk to watch the sunset, and watched paragliders land in a field just down the road. The Zugspitze is a short drive away, with more to do in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In Oberammergau, I highly recommend the Kolbensesselbahn and alpine coaster. We would definitely return to Alpen Deluxe and had a great stay.

Parking was a little limited, but adequate. We parked in the same spot on the street several times, rather than in one of the parking spaces available for the buildings.

Location, facilities, views

Amazing apartments and even more amazing surroundings with mountain views on all sides. Easy to reach all the places of interest in the Bavarian Alps.

Great location.

The bedding was scratchy and the pillows were too small.
