It is very old building, but closer to everything

人挺多的，位置不错，然后能认识全世界的朋友。

公共空间太拥挤，然后晾晒没地方。

Great value for money. Prime location.

Wifi is a bit slow there and the big dorm could be but comfortable so better to take a 4 bed dorm

Perfect location, everything is enough to stay and get around beautiful city Almaty. I met some travellers here as well, we hang out sometimes in the kitchen , very fun and friends vibes. I also team up with some people here for trekking to Big Almaty lake, i'm very happy for staying here. The lady owner is also very nice and smile all the time.

Hostel64 is a good cost benefit option. Good location for those who’re looking for a quiet place, but not far from busy areas; clean sheets; kitchen is functional; staffs are friendly and helpful.

가격이 싸서 좋았고, 알마티 시내 중심부에 위치하여 좋았다.

도로 바로 앞에 위치하여 가끔 시끄러운 차, 오토바이 소리가 들림, 그치만 새벽이 되면 조용해짐, 아침이 되면 다시 시끄러울 수 있으나 알람소리를 대신함. 에어컨이 없어서 밤에 더웠음

The location is central and the hostel allows for early check-in starting in the morning, which other hostels do not. The staff was friendly and allows luggage storage if you don't leave Almaty until evening.

I do not understand all the good ratings. First of all, there is only 1 shower for a whole floor of guests. Each room had between 4-8 bunk beds, and then you wait in line for a shower. The toilet has the world's smallest handwashing sink, and no hooks for a towel. The hostel occupies an old apartment building, and includes 3 floors. The one member of the cleaning staff cannot clean properly. The floors were not mopped, and there was hair all over the bathroom floor from people who had showered over 24 hours. The mattress was completely sunken in and the pillow was just balls of cotton, it was so old. The kitchen stove did not work properly, and there were only 2 kitchen chairs, one of which was broken. The hostel does not provide a filtered water machine. In other words, it was not kept up to the standard which the price demanded. There are many better hostels in Almaty, that also include breakfast, for this price.
