The Golden Lion Inn

Location, cleanliness, lovely rooms, great staff, excellent breakfast, free parking, best beer in town, a real gem.

Rooms were spacious and beautifully, even quirkily designed. Very comfortable beds. No noise at night. Breakfast was great (especially the black pudding and bacon!). Staff were exceptionally frindly and communicative; all with senses of humour which made our stay positive. Great to have our own alloted parking space, in an area where it's not so easy to park. I'd recommend The Golden Lion to anyone. We are planning to return and climb more of those wild and wonderful hills around the Shropshire/Wales border.

What wasn't to like!?

Room was clean, tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and good.

The mattress on the double bed was very hard and my side creaked everytime I moved. Didn't sleep very well.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast with a good choice of quality food and made to order. Very good choice of real ales in the cosy bar, also able to park the car in a designated location on the car park. Great value for money.
