Yocamatsu

Luis fue súper servicial, nos ayudó en todo: recomendó sitios para comer, centros de buceo, nos alquiló bicis y nos preparó unos desayunos increíbles. Dormimos en una de las habitaciones independientes lo cual fue muy cómodo. La ubicación es de 10, cerca de todo andando pero sin renunciar a la tranquilidad.

Our stay at Yocamatsu in Caye Caulker was unforgettable. The location is absolutely amazing, every morning I loved relaxing on the front porch in the hammock, soaking in the peaceful island vibes. Breakfast each day was incredible. Luis puts so much care, love, and creativity into every meal, and each one genuinely wowed us. It became something we looked forward to every single morning. We also completely fell in love with Luis’s pets, his dogs Naila ( the mama) , Dory, Junior, and Rocket, as well as their snuggly cat Peta. They are incredibly well-trained, cuddly, and so so loving. Spending time with them was honestly one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Brian, Luis, and Maria are wonderful hosts. They are warm, welcoming, and great to chat with, they make you feel right at home. The third-floor palapa where breakfast is served is serene and beautiful, with views of the ocean and palm trees and a perfect light breeze. We often sat up there for hours just enjoying the atmosphere. The room itself was very comfortable with a great bed, strong AC, reliable hot water, and fresh towels whenever needed. They even provided beach towels, which was such a thoughtful touch. The location is also excellent, very close to everything you want to experience in Caye Caulker, including the water taxis, Hardwood Gym, great restaurants and bars, and The Split. Being right by the soccer field made it feel lively yet always very safe. We cannot recommend Yocamatsu enough. Leaving felt emotional because we were treated with such kindness and genuinely felt like members of the island. We would return in a heartbeat.

We loved every part of it!

Yocamatsu is a small guesthouse. It’s a block away from the busy street and very quiet. The manager Luis and owner Brian both live on site. They are very welcoming and helpful. Luis made a great breakfast every morning. I highly recommend this place!

It’s clean, quiet, and private.

We didn't actually stay there! What happened was we were shown to a small dark room with 2 windows, both of which looked out onto a high metal fence a foot or so in front of the windows. I expressed surprise and asked if they had another room. No they said. When I said this wasn't what we expected they invited us to leave, with a refund (minus booking fees) . So feeling unwelcome we did, but this was high season and we had few options at this point. So be warned and check that you're booking a 'Cabana' and not a 'room'

We had an excellent time here. It was clean, peaceful, and beautiful! The food and the vibes were great!

Friendly staff and good location to the local venues

Very quiet and peaceful cottage. Brightly colored, hammock in the balcony. Breakfast on the terrace.

The path to entrance was through a local playground and got muddy after rain.
