Extended Stay America Select Suites - Newport News - Oyster Point

I should have known due to the price that this hotel would not be great. To start off, when i checked, the front desk clerk didn't realize that i had already booked the room on Hotels.com. He seemed like he was new and the only way I figured that he had no idea of my booking was because the tablet that he used said "Walk in" rather than "Expedia". Some guy, who im guessing was the manager came from the back several times to assist the employee. They finally assigned me a room and when i went to check it out either someone was staying there or the room was never cleaned. This was 10:30-10:45 pm. I went to complain and they gave me a new room. This room was clean-ish but in need of a deep clean and a upgrade. The tv took several minutes to boot up and actual move from a tv guide page. I dont see myself coming back. At this point, this was just a place to lay my head overnight.

They couldn't findy booking they were very rude and they over charged and also they had to keep given me a different room cause both rooms were dirty

Nice location

First off they made me pay $100 deposit after I got here second they told me it was a non-smoking facility and a non-smoking room and when I checked in there was burn marks on the bathtub from cigarettes if you’d like I can send you a picture of them on the bathtub because if they try to charge me, we’re gonna have a big problem. I’m not a smoker.

Room Card activator quit working so I had to find a member of the staff to give me access to my room many many times! And this was in the freezing winter evening that I could not get into my room. And had to use a telephone in an open, windy breezeway to call in my complaint, to get someone to come let me into my room that I had paid for.

On top of having to PAY FOR CLEAN TOWELS AND TOILET PAPER, we didn’t have a microwave in our room but thought better to ask for one in fear of being charged for that too. Shower curtain was so small that it didn’t block the water causing us to use more towels only to have to pay for clean ones to dry ourselves.

The front desk staff were incredibly rude and disrespectful
